Soft yellow patches around the eyelids are more common than people realise.

Xanthelasma are cholesterol deposits that form beneath the skin of the eyelid. They are harmless in themselves, but many patients would rather not have them. Removal is carried out with care for the eyelid's delicate structure, with incisions placed within its natural lines where possible.

Because xanthelasma can sometimes be linked to cholesterol levels, it's worth having them assessed rather than simply treated.
