New findings in advanced squamous non–small cell lung cancer may signal an important advance for patients with poor outcomes.

“This is one of very few studies in advanced squamous [NSCLC] that has shown median survival beyond 2 years,” explained lead author Shun Lu, PhD, of Shanghai Chest Hospital, Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

The phase III HARMONi-6 trial, presented at the Plenary Session during , showed an overall survival in patients with advanced squamous NSCLC from treatment with the investigational bispecific antibody ivonescimab combined with chemotherapy.

Key findings included:
• Reduced risk of death
• Benefits observed across PD-L1 expression subgroups

• Comparable safety profile

Day 23 of our 30 days of impact celebrating our 30th Anniversary focuses on how your support helps us bring vital care directly to our patients' doorsteps. 🫵

Following the pandemic, there was an increase in patients who felt anxious about coming into a hospital environment, preferring instead to receive their treatment in the safety and comfort of their own homes.

To meet this need, we provided £77,000 to expand the Treatment at Home service to the north of Liverpool. This generous support allowed us to open a dedicated hub at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Aintree and recruit additional specialist nurses.

By launching this new hub, we have achieved some incredible results for our community:

⭐ It has significantly cut down on nurse travel times, as staff no longer need to commute all the way from our Wirral centre to reach patients in north Liverpool.

⭐ The service has expanded its reach, increasing the number of patients receiving care at home from 500 per month to 650.

⭐ Nearly half of the patients benefiting from this expansion live in Liverpool and are currently receiving treatment for breast cancer.
