📢 Launching today: Short breaks fund microgrant programme!

Last year, 630 unpaid carers in West Lothian benefitted from a break from caring by accessing this The Scottish Government grant scheme. CoWL supported adult and young carers to take a break, whether that was by purchasing walking equipment, an overnight stay, garden furniture or booking classes.

How could a grant of up to £350 help you access a break from your caring role?

To apply, visit: https://cowl.org.uk/time-to-live

This programme is made possible with Shared Care Scotland.

Our next Dad’s Space is meeting on Wednesday 20th may at 10am ☕

This is a relaxed, social and informal meet‑up where dads (including grandads, stepdads and kinship carers) supporting a child aged 0–16 with additional support needs can come together for a brew.

It’s a chance to chat, share experiences and enjoy some time out with others who really ‘get it’.

The group is facilitated by cowl staff and volunteers who are dads and parent carers themselves.

Dad’s space runs monthly:
📅 when: 3rd Wednesday of each month
⏰ time: 10.00–11.30
📍 where: the chain runner, Livingston

Why not come along, you’ll be very welcome.

Three months into our newest clinic of bookable local support appointments and we are thrilled that it has been so successful. We have been fortunate to be fully booked each month since it started and are glad to be able to offer local support to the West Calder community.

Thank you to West Calder Community HUB for hosting us on the third Monday of each month.

If you live in West Calder or the surrounding areas and would like to speak with a member of the CoWL support team about anything relating to your caring role or disability, then book in to a 30-minute appointment on our website https://cowl.org.uk/appointments
