Pop In and Play, our newest space for children to build, create, and imagine, launches this Saturday, 19th September, 11am–1pm. Think a Marble Lab, first attempts at 3D printing, magnetic tile building challenges, and immersive VR. No experience needed, just curiosity.

What happens when we give young people the opportunity to shape the conversations that affect them?

We listen.

Future Makers is about creating spaces where young people can share their ideas, express themselves, build relationships and have a real say in what happens next.

And sometimes, creating those spaces simply means coming together, having fun and enjoying each other’s company.

We had such a lovely time on Saturday, with plenty of laughter, conversations and moments to enjoy. A big thank you to Kirsty Ross for helping make the day such a lovely one.

It is not about adults deciding what young people need and speaking for them. It is about creating the space, asking the questions and giving them room to lead the conversation.

Because young people are not just the future. They are part of the present, and their voices matter now.

🎉 STIRLING STEM CLUB IS BACK THIS WEDNESDAY! 🎉

We had so much fun in our last session watching the kids learn how to program their own interactive stories on Scratch using block-based coding! It’s incredible to see how quickly they transform creative ideas into working animations. 💻✨

Ever seen a marble run a kid actually designed themselves? 🎢

This Saturday, we're opening the doors to Pop In and Play, our newest space where children get to build, create, and imagine. Think a Marble Lab, a first go at 3D printing, magnetic tile towers, and VR that'll blow their little minds. No experience needed, just curiosity (and maybe a snack for after).

Our STEM Club starts in just a few hours, and we can’t wait to get started! ⚙️💡

Check out these awesome creations; from colorful 3D magnetic structures to creative design sketches! Our sessions give kids aged 7–12 the chance to jump in, experiment, build, and learn valuable new skills while having a blast.

What happens when young people are more afraid of being blamed or embarrassed than they are of asking for help?

That was one of the important conversations from our Mind & Media Virtual Event on 5th September 2026.

These clips from Angela Constance MSP remind us that creating safer online spaces is not just about policies and technology. It is also about making sure young people know they can speak up, seek support and be taken seriously.

Listen to young people. Believe them. Give them the confidence to ask for help.

Their voices belong in conversations about their safety.

This week has been beautiful across all our STEM Club hubs. 🎉

📍 Alloa, Tuesday — children got creative with magnetic tiles, drawing out their designs before bringing them to life in 3D.

📍 Stirling, Wednesday — young coders learned to program their own stories on Scratch using block-based programming.

📍 Falkirk, Thursday — hands went straight into building electronic circuits, watching fans spin and lights blink to life.

Wikipedia doesn't take its own photos. Today, we're training the people who will. 📸

This is day one of Flosverse Future Makers in Alloa, our new initiative where young people explore photography, Wikipedia, digital skills and local heritage while meeting people working in STEM and research. Our first adventure: Wiki Loves Monuments.

Today, Dr Kirsty Ross, Public Engagement Professional & STEM Specialist, is leading our free Prep Session for young people aged 8–16, covering research skills, digital tools, fact-checking, copyright and open knowledge, helping ensure Alloa's history is properly represented online.
