Just because someone can prescribe medication doesn’t automatically make them a skincare expert.

I’m seeing skincare products recommended that regularly leave people with irritated skin, damaged barriers, breakouts, and allergic reactions. Yet somehow, experienced skin therapists are the ones having their expertise questioned?

Another sober holiday completed. ✨
817 days sober.

I won’t pretend it’s always easy.

A couple of days ago, I desperately wanted a cocktail on the beach while everyone else was enjoying one. It hit me so hard that I ended up in tears.

When I checked my sobriety counter, it read 2 years, 2 months and 22 days. If you know me, you’ll know 22:22 has always been my lucky number. I chose to see it as the sign I needed to dig deep, keep going, and stay true to the promise I made to myself. Looking back now, I’m so grateful that I did.

Since giving up alcohol, I’ve done sober nights out, events where drinks were flowing, retreats, weddings, birthdays, and now several holidays. There are still moments that test me, even after all this time, but those moments pass.

What doesn’t pass is the peace.

No more waking up with anxiety. No more listening to that destructive voice in my head. No more wondering what I said or did the night before. Just clarity, calm, and a life I genuinely love.

I don’t often talk about the struggles behind getting here, but the truth is I’m a completely different person from the woman I was just over two years ago.

If you’re finding it hard today, keep going. The difficult moments are temporary, but the life you’re building is worth every single one of them. 🤍

It’s been a journey , one Rebecca trusted me on despite the purging , the fact we had to move backwards before moving forward. This is the thing with acne and compromised skin barriers they don’t always respond how you would “expect”. It takes a lot of patience and trust to get to the other side .
