🚛🎉 Huge congratulations to Lauren Meek on successfully passing her HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) test this morning! 🎉🚛

Lauren joined Phoenix Drilling as our Sample Store Assistant, keeping our samples organised and supporting our engineering team behind the scenes. Now she’s added another string to her bow and will also be helping with plant and equipment moves across the country.

We're incredibly proud of Lauren for this fantastic achievement and the hard work she's put in to get here. 👏

The only person not quite as excited might be her sister Emma... 🤭 With Lauren now qualified, she'll be getting behind the wheel of Emma's pride and joy, Sally the Scania, and we're not sure Emma is quite ready to share the keys yet! 🚚😂

Well done Lauren – a brilliant achievement and thoroughly deserved. Welcome to the world of Class 1 driving! 💪

🔧 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 & 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲

It's been a busy couple of weekends, but we're pleased to have completed a floor and walkway refresh throughout our workshop, sample store, and equipment store.

The project has transformed these areas with cleaner, brighter, and more clearly defined walkways, helping to improve safety, organisation, and the overall working environment for our team and visitors.

A great example of continuous improvement and investing in our workplace to support efficiency, safety, and pride in our facilities.

🔧 𝗛𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗕𝗩𝟮𝟬𝟲 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 🔧

It’s a Hägglund BV206 kind of week at our Livingston workshop.

As our long-term energy projects across the Highlands begin to wind down, the focus shifts from the field to the workshop, where our team is busy preparing each of our low ground pressure vehicles for their next deployment.

From routine servicing and transfer gearbox refurbishments to sprocket and idler replacements, every machine undergoes a thorough inspection and overhaul to ensure it remains reliable and ready for the toughest terrain.

Once the mechanical work is complete, attention turns to presentation, giving each BV206 the finishing touches so it looks every bit as good as it performs before heading back into service.

A great effort from the workshop team, whose hard work keeps our fleet operating at the highest standard.

Due to continued expansion, Phoenix Drilling Limited are currently seeking hardworking, motivated and reliable individuals with a positive attitude for the following positions – Rotary, Cable Percussion & Windowless Sampling Lead Drillers, along with Assistant / Trainee Drillers, operating from our head office in Livingston, West Lothian.

Applicants for Lead Driller positions must hold an NVQ Level 2 in Land-Based Drilling. All other applicants must hold a valid CSCS card and a full, clean UK driving licence.

We're looking for people who are keen to work, take pride in what they do and contribute positively to our team. Serious applications only from individuals with a strong work ethic and the right attitude.

As our projects are located throughout Scotland and the wider UK, working away from home and overnight stays will be required at times, therefore applicants must be willing to travel as part of the role.

👋 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻! 👋

We're delighted to welcome Lauren Meek to the Phoenix Drilling team!

Lauren joins us as our new Sample Store Assistant, taking on an important role within our engineering and laboratory support functions. She will be responsible for organising and managing samples returned from site, assisting our engineers during the sample logging process, maintaining the sample store, and preparing and retrieving samples for laboratory testing and client requirements. The sample store plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and traceability of the data we provide to our clients and Lauren's support will help keep this process running efficiently and smoothly.

Alongside her sample store responsibilities, Lauren will also be assisting her sister, Emma, with HGV vehicle movements, helping to keep our operations moving and supporting our field teams across the UK.
Having both Lauren and Emma behind the wheel of our trucks should keep things interesting! We're not sure whether it'll be teamwork or sibling rivalry that gets the plant & equipment moved quickest, but we're looking forward to finding out! 😆🚛👭

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Willie Ganson, our highly skilled Excavator Operator.

When it comes to excavator operations, Willie consistently goes above and beyond. Whether it's remedial works, peatland restoration, track construction, bund formation, site clearance or tackling challenging ground conditions, his attention to detail and commitment to getting the job done right first time never fail to impress both Phoenix Drilling and our clients.

His experience, professionalism and pride in his work set the standard on every project he works on. Simply put, Willie is one of the best at what he does!

Away from the machine, Willie is an absolute gentleman and a valued member of the Phoenix Drilling team. His positive attitude, willingness to help others and dedication to delivering quality work make him a real asset to the business.

Another early start for Greg and Stephen from one of our Low Ground Pressure Energy teams as they relocate to their next borehole location in Aberdeenshire.

Our low ground pressure rigs allow us to access sensitive ground conditions while minimising environmental impact, helping to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

A great example of specialist geotechnical investigation supporting energy infrastructure projects across Scotland.

Last week we welcomed David and Sandie from Headshots Scotland to Phoenix Drilling to refresh our team portraits, and what a fantastic experience it was!

A huge thank you to both of them for making the entire process run so smoothly. From start to finish, they created a relaxed atmosphere and helped everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera – no easy task for some of our team!

The photos are now back with us, and the difficult part begins... choosing our favourites! Once everyone has made their selections, we'll be updating our website with a fresh new look so you can put faces to the names behind Phoenix Drilling.
