We love a craft session, and were delighted to welcome Debbie from Creative Mojo back to Moorcroft.

The residents always look forward to her visits, and really enjoyed making some clay coasters. These sessions encourage hand to eye coordination and help enrich their friendships.

We think the ladies did a good job!!!

Thank you Debbie, we will see you in the Autumn!!

We finish this hot week on a happy note, a week when we experienced the solar eclipse, and learnt that we had won the highest award in Llandudno in Bloom!

And the garden has been bursting with activity all week, lots of garden strolls taken, exercises classes completed and ice creams eaten.

This evening our ladies were very excited to be immersed in the excitement of the Solar Eclipse.🌖

The coverage on the TV was pretty good, but our girls wanted to make sure they could really feel the atmosphere and eeriness. So outside they went, lots of giggles trying to get the perfect selfie!!! 😀

Thank you Rhiannon, Danielle and Andrea for making it so much fun for them 🙏.

🌸🌿🏵 We've only gone and done it again!!! We are the Gold Star winners of our category in Llandudno in Bloom 2026 🌸🌿🏵

We have worked incredibly hard this year, battling one of the hottest and driest Summers we can remember. But in true testament to the hard work of our team, we are proud of the amazing garden we have here at Moorcroft. The biggest thank you to Jayne, Rita, Sonya and Eric - what a team!

Our residents enjoy the fruits of our labour every single day, and that is what it is all about.........

The first week of August has been as busy and fun-filled as ever!!!
Here is a summary of a few things we've been up to:
Lots of walks out in the fresh air to the park - thank you Dilys & Kate (We have Strawberries at last!!)🍓
Chair exercises with Tor 💃
Cheese & wine with Andrea 🧀
Board games with Rita & Sally 🎲
And with the lovely weather expected next week, we will look forward to lots of time outside in the garden. 🌸

🧀🍷Cheese & Wine anyone? 🧀🍷

It was a definite 'yes' from our residents when we suggested another cheese & wine event. The ladies gathered in the conservatory and Andrea ensured everyone was well fed and watered. We had Smooth FM on in the background, and there was lots of chatter. Just a great way to spend a windy afternoon!! Thank you Andrea 😊

🎂 Today it's our Vicky's birthday, and this post is all about her. 🎂

Vicky is really into Art, and had always visited galleries with husband during her younger years. Ffin y Parc was a favourite, and she often talks about visiting there again. Many art pieces had been purchased from there over the years, and a few remain here with her in her bedroom.

Rhiannon, one of our Health Care Assistants asked if we could arrange a trip out for her. Of course we did!! We understand the importance of residents maintaining connections with things that they used do love.

Here are some lovely pictures of them enjoying the art work together at Ffin y Parc ❤️.

Her birthday has just began with a lunch out with her son and family, then tea with her friends at Moorcroft later, perfect!

Our team of Health Care Assistants are just the best!!

They all take it in turns to plan and carry out some form of entertainment for our residents, EVERY SINGLE DAY. This, along with all the external entertainment we organise, ensures that there is always something going on, should the residents choose to join in.

Here is an example of a fun exercise/sport class that Sally ran for the ladies. It's always great to encourage movement and stretching, but to hear lots of giggles coming from the conservatory, means fun was had too - thank you Sally. 😀

🚗 Look how happy everyone was when we took them out in the Moorcroft minibus!! 🚗

They loved the coastal views as we slowly made our way to Llanfairfechan, where the ladies firstly stretched their legs and took in the sea air. They then had a good natter and indulged in teacakes and a cuppa together in the Beach Pavillion cafe. We just love seeing them enjoy each others company.

Big thank you to Eric, Mair and Danielle for ensuring they had such a lovely time. What a team!!😊

One of our favourite groups returned to Moorcroft this week - the fabulous Tenovus Sing with Us Choir 💙.

The residents are always full of excitement when they have this to look forward to. And as always, the choir didn't disappoint. We are sure that each time they visit, the numbers increase!! But we think we know why!!!! Not only do the choristers enjoy singing and speaking to the residents, they know they always get plenty of homemade cakes and a good cuppa. And of course a big donation from us.

Well, they absolutely deserve it and we know we will see them back with us at Christmas time.
