💠The power of community. 💜
A few months ago, I donated a massage gift voucher to A Touch of Purple Spring Ball, held at The Diplomat Hotel. The event was organised by Charlotte Evans in loving memory of her husband, Wayne, with all proceeds supporting Ty Bryngwyn Hospice and the Prince Philip Chemotherapy Day Unit.
I displayed the event poster in my treatment room to help spread the word, never expecting the conversations it would create.
One of my clients, who is a nurse, looked at the poster and said, “That’s the unit I work for. It’s so lovely to see people supporting it.”
Another client, who is a funeral director, recognised Wayne’s name and shared that he had conducted his funeral. He told me what a lovely man he was.
Many people asked if I was going to the ball. I wasn’t able to attend, but I felt honoured to support such a special cause by donating a treatment voucher.
Then yesterday , something lovely happened. One of my regular clients came in holding that very voucher. She had won it at the ball! She told me that when her name was called, she proudly said, “That’s where I go for my treatments!”
It really made me smile.
It’s amazing how one small act of support led to so many conversations and connections. It reminded me that we live in a community where people know each other, care about each other, and come together when it matters most.
I’m incredibly proud to be a small part of such a kind, supportive community. Thank you to everyone who gives back in whatever way they can. Together, we really do make a difference. 💜
