Another memorial completed and installed by SW MONUMENTAL MASONS...

This elegant Farndon memorial in Regal Grey granite, finished with the inscription hand-gilded in 23.5ct Gold Leaf, creates a timeless tribute to Cedric Griffiths.

It was a privilege to complete this memorial for Cedric's family, creating a fitting tribute to a much-loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather & Brother.

Great to see the Cynheidre Colliery Memorial getting some local news coverage.
It was an absolute privilege for SW Monumental Masons to create and build this memorial, and fantastic to see the story behind the project being shared.

Another memorial completed and fitted today.

This particular customer lives in Canada, so we've been liaising throughout the whole process remotely to create exactly what she wanted for her father's memorial.

The inscription includes a customised font, produced specifically for the customer, and most importantly we were able to have everything completed and installed in time for the first anniversary of her father's passing and for her annual visit home to Wales.

Another memorial completed this week.
We were honoured to carry out an additional inscription to commemorate a much-loved family member.
As part of the work, all of the existing lettering was carefully stripped back and renewed in genuine gold leaf, giving the memorial a fresh, consistent finish.
The new inscription was then matched to the original layout and style to ensure it blended seamlessly with the existing memorial.

It's always a privilege to be entrusted with work like this, helping families preserve the memory of their loved ones with the care, respect and craftsmanship they deserve.

🔨 Another memorial completed in Burry Port Cemetery.

There are few compliments greater than the trust of a returning customer.

After previously entrusting SW MONUMENTAL MASONS to create a memorial for his late father, this gentleman contacted me again to produce this beautiful Premium Bahama Blue memorial with elegant silver lettering in memory of his beloved mother.

It is always an honour to create a lasting tribute to someone's loved one, and I am truly grateful for the trust placed in SW Monumental Masons once again.

Some projects mean a little more than others, and this was certainly one of them.

We were contacted by Luke's parents with the idea of creating a lasting memorial within Luke's forever home in rural Wales. The property, which Luke lovingly renovated into the stunning award-winning home that went on to win Welsh House of the Year 2022, was the perfect setting for a tribute to his remarkable life.

Luke was an architect working in London, but above all else he was an incredibly proud Welshman. After fighting Stage 4 melanoma for 6 years, Luke sadly passed away when the cancer spread to his brain. Throughout his journey, Luke continued to inspire others, raising money for Melanoma Focus and helping to drive awareness and improvements in how melanoma is assessed and treated.

Working closely with Keith and Debbie, we discussed several options before recommending a locally sourced Welsh boulder which was rebated so the bespoke Welsh slate plaque would sit nicely inside it rather than engraving directly onto the stone on site. They immediately fell in love with the idea, and we moved forward with sourcing both the boulder and the slate locally, something we felt was a fitting way to honour Luke's deep love for Wales.

The poem, written by one of Lukey’s close friends, carries great meaning and pride for Debbie, Keith and the family. It was only right that we made the poem fit perfectly onto the slate plaque. In all honesty, it was a challenge, but one we overcame through several proofs until everything was just right 👌

It has been a privilege to play a small part in creating this lasting tribute to such an inspirational young man. We hope this memorial provides a peaceful place for family and friends to remember Luke for many years to come.

Here's a memorial we recently completed for a valued customer.

Supply, engraving and installation of an 18" x 18" premium grey desk tablet memorial at Limes Cemetery, Cowbridge.

This memorial features a polished and carved book and tassel design, together with a ceramic photoplaque, creating a personal and lasting tribute to a loved one.
