New Moon in Cancer, and it's my birthday week 🦀
I just want to take a second to talk about the timing of
tonight's New Moon in Cancer. My birthday sign. The Moon literally coming home, right before I turn a year older ✨️
Cancer season is all about home, feelings, and safety.
This New Moon isn't asking you to hustle, push through or launch big new plans. It's asking you to slow down.
This is Cerridwen energy if ever there was. Our Welsh goddess of the cauldron and the moon's cycles. In the old stories, she brewed a potion for a whole year and a day, stirring it slowly, patiently, trusting the process even when nothing seemed to be happening. She didn't rush it. She couldn't. Some things only become what they need to become in their own time.
That's exactly what this New Moon is asking of us. Not to force. Not to push. Just to stir gently, and trust.
So here's how I'm honouring Cerridwen's cauldron tonight:
✨️ Name what's in the pot. Cerridwen knew exactly what she was brewing and why. What are you quietly working on right now, that no one else can see yet?
✨️ Stir, don't force. Sit with a candle and a bowl of water. Not to make anything happen. Just to be near it, the way she stayed near her cauldron for a year without rushing the outcome.
✨️What's asking to change? Cerridwen's brew wasn't for her, it was for her son, to change what couldn't stay the same. Where in your life is something needing to transform, even if you don't yet know what it'll become?
✨️ Let the old intentions simmer. With Mercury retrograde alongside this new Moon, it's not the night for new plans. Go back to something you set your heart on weeks or months ago. Has it changed shape? Let it.
✨️ Rest. Her cauldron needed a steady, low flame for a year, not a blaze. Where in your own life are you burning too hot, trying to force something that just needs time?
Your feelings aren't a problem to fix this week. They're information. Let the cauldron do its slow work.
And with my birthday landing right in this cosy, watery energy, it feels like the year ahead is asking me to come home to myself too. 🕊️
