Many of you know me already but thought I’d introduce myself to those who don’t. My name is Helen and I’m the Consultant for the Rhoose, Llantwit and St Athan groups. I began gaining weight at the age of 10. Throughout High School I was bullied for my weight. Constantly called names and laughed at. I hated going to school. I was always the one who came last during races as was so unfit and got picked last for a team in PE. These memories still with me some 30 plus years later.

I joined a local group and went on to lose 8 and a half stone. In 2018 and 2019 I ran in the Cardiff Half Marathon. Albeit not the fastest but I got over the finishing line and the thing that got me through it was all the memories of being laughed at in school.

I’ll always struggle with my weight as I’m human. If someone tells you you can’t or ever makes you feel less of a person because of your weight turn around and show them you can. I’ll be with you every step of the way 💕 x

It’s not just about what’s on your plate – the little things you do each day can make a big difference to how you feel and how you lose weight.

Here are some simple habits my members are loving 👇.
✨ Improving sleep and creating a calmer bedtime routine
💧 Drinking more water throughout the day
🏃‍♀️ Gently introducing more movement and exercise
🍳 Making simple swaps to the way meals are cooked
🧠 Stopping ‘distraction eating’ and eating more mindfully

Walking through the doors of a slimming group could be the hardest thing you ever have to do. Whether it’s your first or tenth time it’s never easy but I promise you I will do all I can to help you. I understand how hard losing weight can be but with the right help and support we can make it easier. I’ve lost over 8 and a half stone so know exactly how my members are feeling.
