A Quiet Truth I Didn’t Expect After Both My Parents Died: Freedom.

Not happiness.

Freedom.

Freedom to be more myself.

Freedom to reconnect with my true nature — without fear of judgement or rejection.

One of the strangest expressions of this freedom?

That I can sing again.

No — I’m not saying I’m glad my parents died.

I’m saying that after their deaths, something long silenced in me was finally able to breathe and express itself again with more groundedness.

In my family of origin, singing — even speaking — was damaging. I learned to stop.

There were years of silence.

Then courage.

Then silence again.

But grief has a way of clarifying what truly matters.

Not just the values we inherit — but the values we choose to live by in adulthood.
