✈️ Sometimes the best thank you isn't a card...

It's a photograph.

Every now and then someone sends me a picture months after we've worked together.

It might be standing at an airport before a flight they never thought they'd take. It might be walking through a woodland they'd stopped visiting because of pain. It might be smiling with grandchildren, enjoying a holiday or simply doing something that had quietly disappeared from their life.

Those photographs mean more to me than people probably realise.

Not because they're thanking me.

Because they're showing me what getting your life back looks like.

People often think therapy is about removing anxiety, reducing pain or overcoming fear.

They're partly right.

But that's only the beginning.

The real goal is freedom.

Freedom to travel.

Freedom to laugh without worrying.

Freedom to make plans without wondering whether your body or your mind will let you down.

That's what excites me most about the work I do.

Seeing people return to the things they thought they'd lost forever.

So today I'd love you to think about this...

If nothing was holding you back, where would you love to go, or what would you love to do?

Sometimes naming the destination is the first step towards reaching it.

💚 "You're the first person who's actually listened."

Every now and then, somebody says something that stays with you for years.

A while ago, towards the end of a session, someone smiled at me and said, "You're the first person who's actually listened."

I remember feeling quite emotional afterwards because, in truth, I hadn't done anything extraordinary. I hadn't offered some magical solution or produced a life-changing piece of advice. I'd simply listened. Properly listened. Not while looking at a clock. Not while thinking about the next question. Just listened.

It made me realise how rare that has become.

We live in a world where everyone seems to be rushing. Conversations are often interrupted by phones, notifications or the next appointment. Sometimes people spend years talking about their pain, their worries or their struggles without ever feeling truly heard.

One of the things I value most about my work is creating a space where people don't have to rush. They don't have to pretend they're coping. They don't have to put on a brave face. They can simply be themselves.

Ironically, that's often where change begins.

Not because somebody has all the answers, but because somebody finally feels safe enough to tell their story.

If you've ever felt unheard, unseen or like you've had to carry everything on your own, I hope you know you don't always have to.

Has someone ever really listened to you when you needed it most?

I'd genuinely love to hear about that person because those moments often stay with us for a lifetime.

If you'd like to have a confidential conversation about your own wellbeing, I'd be delighted to hear from you.

🏛️ One sentence from Socrates has stayed with me for years...

"The unexamined life is not worth living."

At first glance, that sounds rather dramatic.

But I don't think Socrates was encouraging us to criticise ourselves.

I think he was inviting us to become curious.

To ask...

Why do I react this way?

Why does this situation upset me so much?

Why do I always put everyone else first?

Why have I accepted feeling this way for so long?

Those questions aren't about blame.

They're about understanding.

In many ways, that's how I approach my work too.

I'm rarely interested in rushing straight to the symptom.

I'm interested in understanding the person sitting in front of me.

Your experiences.

Your story.

Your hopes.

Your fears.

Because when we understand ourselves a little better, we often begin to make different choices. Sometimes those small shifts in perspective can lead to meaningful changes in the way we live our lives.

Perhaps that's why philosophy still feels so relevant today.

It reminds us that growth often begins with curiosity rather than certainty.

Is there a question you've been asking yourself recently?

Or perhaps there's one you've been avoiding.

If you'd like to share, I'd love to read your thoughts.

And if you'd like to explore those questions in a safe, supportive environment, I'd be delighted to have a conversation with you.

📖 People often ask why I talk about philosophy...

It probably seems a little unusual.

After all, what do people like Socrates, Marcus Aurelius or Epictetus have to do with wellbeing?

Quite a lot, as it turns out.

Long before modern psychology existed, philosophers were asking questions that many of us still ask today.

How do we deal with fear?

How do we cope with uncertainty?

How do we respond when life doesn't go to plan?

How do we find peace when the world around us feels chaotic?

Those questions haven't changed in over two thousand years.

Neither has the human experience.

The more I work with people, the more I realise that healing isn't only about reducing pain or anxiety. It's also about changing the way we understand ourselves and the challenges we face.

Sometimes a different perspective can be just as powerful as a practical technique.

That's why you'll often see philosophy woven into my posts.

Not because the philosophers had all the answers, but because they asked remarkable questions.

Questions that still encourage us to pause, reflect and perhaps see life a little differently.

Do you have a favourite quote that has stayed with you over the years?

I'd love to hear it. Sometimes a single sentence can change the way we look at the world.

If you'd like to explore your own wellbeing, I'm always happy to have a friendly conversation.

🌿 Hello... I'm Lyn.

Every now and then I think it's important to reintroduce myself, especially as so many new people have joined this page recently.

So... hello. I'm Lyn.

For many years I've had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life who are living with challenges such as anxiety, stress, trauma, chronic pain, arthritis, phobias, emotional overwhelm and those moments in life when things simply don't feel quite right.

No two people ever walk through my door with exactly the same story.

Some have spent years living with pain that has slowly taken away the things they love doing.

Some arrive feeling emotionally exhausted, unable to explain why they no longer feel like themselves.

Others come because they want to overcome a fear, process a difficult experience or simply understand why their mind and body seem to be working against them.

What I love most about my work is that every person is different. That means every session is different too.

I use a combination of Creative Kinesiology, BLAST Trauma Therapy, Old Pain 2 Go and other holistic approaches to help people better understand themselves and support positive change. Rather than focusing on one symptom, I like to step back and look at the bigger picture because our emotional wellbeing, physical health and daily lives are often far more connected than we realise.

One thing you'll notice if you follow this page is that I don't simply talk about therapies.

I talk about people.

I talk about resilience.

I talk about perspective.

I share stories, reflections and practical ideas that I hope make life feel just a little lighter.

If even one post makes someone stop, think or feel understood, then it's been worthwhile.

Thank you for being here. Whether you've followed this page for years or you've only just found it, I'm genuinely grateful you've chosen to be part of this community.

I'd love to know a little about you too.

How long have you been following my page, and what first brought you here?

Please introduce yourself in the comments. I read every one.

If you'd like to chat privately about your own wellbeing, simply comment TALK, send me a message or WhatsApp me.

🌼 Something happened this week that quietly reminded me what really matters...

I was out for a walk when I noticed a little boy with his grandad. They were strolling along quite happily when the little boy suddenly stopped, crouched down and became completely fascinated by a tiny ladybird making its way across the path.

His grandad stopped too.

For the next minute or so, neither of them said very much. They simply watched this tiny little creature, completely absorbed in the moment.

As I walked on, I found myself smiling.

It struck me how naturally children notice the things that most of us never even see. They're curious. They aren't thinking about tomorrow's shopping, replying to emails or everything they need to get done before bedtime. They're simply present.

Somewhere along the way, many of us lose that ability.

Life becomes busier. Our minds become noisier. Even when we're walking, eating dinner or spending time with family, we're often thinking about the next thing on our list.

That little moment probably lasted less than a minute, but it was enough to remind me that happiness isn't always found in the big events. Sometimes it's hidden in the smallest moments, if we slow down enough to notice them.

This week, try to catch one of those moments.

It might be your first cup of coffee in the morning. A walk in the sunshine. A phone call from an old friend. Watching your children or grandchildren laugh. Listening to birdsong. Whatever it is, give yourself permission to be fully present.

What made you smile this week?

I'd love this comment section to become a collection of little moments that brightened someone's day. You never know, your story might be exactly what someone else needs to read today.

☕ A gentleman said something to me recently that I haven't stopped thinking about...

We'd been chatting for a while about life, family and getting older when he quietly said,

"I'm not frightened of getting older. I'm frightened of becoming a burden."

He didn't say it dramatically. In fact, he almost apologised for saying it, as though it was something he shouldn't admit.

But those words have stayed with me.

As we carried on talking, I realised he wasn't really talking about getting older at all. He was talking about independence. He wanted to keep driving to visit his family. He wanted to walk the dog without worrying whether his body would cope. He wanted to get on the floor with his grandchildren and know he'd be able to get back up again. He wanted to say "yes" when friends suggested meeting for lunch, instead of wondering whether pain or anxiety would get in the way.

It's something I've heard in different ways from many people over the years.

Very few people tell me they simply want less pain.

Very few tell me they just want less anxiety.

What they really want is their life back.

They want to enjoy the ordinary moments that most of us take for granted.

That's why, when someone comes to see me, I don't just focus on symptoms. I want to understand what they're hoping to get back. Because that's what really matters.

So I'll leave you with this...

What does living well mean to you?

For some people it's walking the dog every morning. For others it's travelling, gardening, playing with the grandchildren, dancing, sleeping through the night or simply feeling like themselves again.

I'd genuinely enjoy reading your answers because everyone's definition of a good life is different.

☕ Someone said something to me recently that I've been thinking about ever since...

I was chatting to someone recently who smiled and said,

"I've spent so long looking after everyone else, I don't actually know what I enjoy anymore."

It wasn't said dramatically.

There were no tears.

Just a quiet moment of honesty.

It made me stop and think.

How many of us become so busy being a parent, a partner, a son or daughter, a friend, an employee or a carer that we slowly forget who we are outside of those roles?

Life becomes about everyone else's diary.

Everyone else's needs.

Everyone else's priorities.

Then one day you realise you've forgotten what makes you happy.

I don't think that's selfish to admit.

In fact, I think it's incredibly brave.

One of the things I love most about my work is seeing people reconnect with themselves again. Not by becoming someone different, but by rediscovering the person they were before life became so heavy.

What do you genuinely enjoy doing, just for you?

I'd love to hear your answers. You might even inspire someone else to make time for themselves.

If you're feeling like you've lost a little bit of yourself along the way, let's have a chat. Simply comment TALK, send me a message or WhatsApp me for a friendly, confidential conversation.

🌿 Your body speaks to you every single day. Are you listening?

Most of us don't think twice about topping up the fuel in our car.

We charge our phones every night.

We service our boiler.

We look after the things we rely on.

But how often do we really stop and listen to our own body?

Low energy.

Brain fog.

Poor concentration.

Feeling emotionally drained.

Struggling to switch off.

Persistent aches and pains.

These are all ways your body may be trying to tell you that something isn't quite right.

It doesn't necessarily mean something serious is wrong, but it does mean it's worth paying attention.

As part of my work in Creative Kinesiology, I take a holistic approach, looking at the whole person rather than focusing on a single symptom. Together, we explore physical, emotional and lifestyle factors to build a clearer picture of what's affecting your wellbeing.

Because when we understand what's contributing to the way we feel, we're in a much better position to make positive changes.

💬 I'd love to ask you something...

When do you feel at your healthiest and happiest?

Is it after a walk?

A great night's sleep?

Time with family?

A holiday?

Doing something you love?

Tell me in the comments.

If you'd like to explore your own wellbeing in a friendly, confidential conversation, simply comment TALK, send me a message or WhatsApp me.

🌱 Children don't always say they're struggling... they often show us instead.

As adults, we usually have the words to explain how we're feeling.

"I'm stressed."

"I'm overwhelmed."

"I'm worried."

Children don't always have that luxury.

Instead, their emotions can appear in completely different ways.

They might become unusually quiet.

They may struggle to sleep.

Perhaps they complain of tummy aches or headaches with no obvious cause.

Maybe they're suddenly emotional, withdrawn or reluctant to go to school.

Sometimes these are simply normal stages of growing up.

Sometimes they're signs that a child is finding life difficult and doesn't know how to express it.

Supporting children isn't about finding quick answers.

It's about listening carefully, understanding what's happening beneath the surface and creating a calm, supportive environment where they feel safe to be themselves.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping young people and their families navigate those challenges with patience, understanding and an approach that's tailored to each individual child.

💬 Parents, grandparents and carers...

What's the biggest challenge you think children are facing today?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

If you'd like to find out how I may be able to support a young person in your life, simply comment TALK, send me a message or WhatsApp me.
