Caribbean women have played a vital role in shaping the NHS across generations. Long before Windrush and ever since, their contribution has strengthened UK healthcare at every level - from nurses, doctors, dentists, midwives, pharmacists, public health leaders and academics.
They have cared for communities, led services, trained future professionals and advocated for equity in healthcare. Their impact has been immeasurable.
This month, we recognise their resilience, leadership and legacy β and celebrate their continued influence across the UK.
Representation in healthcare leadership still matters β and so does honouring those who paved the way.
The NHS story includes Caribbean women.
And it always has.
