☀️ Melanoma & Skin Cancer Awareness ☀️

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer worldwide – but it’s also one of the most preventable.

Early detection can save lives, so it’s important to know what to look for 👇

🔍 Check your moles using the ABCDE rule:
• A – Asymmetry
• B – Border (irregular edges)
• C – Colour (uneven or multiple shades)
• D – Diameter (larger than 6mm)
• E – Evolving (changing shape, size, or colour)
⚠️ Melanoma is less common but more serious, as it can spread quickly if not caught early.
✅ Protect your skin:
• Use SPF 30+ daily
• Seek shade during peak sun hours
• Wear hats, sunglasses & protective clothing
• Avoid sunbeds
• Check your skin regularly
If you notice any changes, don’t ignore them – get checked.

🌳This gentle 'First Steps' walk from the Howard Centre is 20-30 minutes long and perfect for anybody who is looking to increase their level of physical activity, as well as anyone recovering from injury or illness.

📆Why not join us on alternating Wednesdays at 11:00am?

☕Our friendly volunteers will lead the way, and there is even a chance for a cuppa afterwards.
