We sang this yesterday for B, who had died from drowning. So devastating for his family- I hope we were able to bring some comfort through this beautiful hymn.

We worked with a new pianist today: my son. Perhaps I'm biased, but I thought he was pretty good :-) We were singing for a precious lady who had had learning difficulties, and the music was kept purposely very gentle.

It hits differently when you sing for someone you know. M, the sacristan at one of our regular churches, has always been there for us, with a kind smile, genuine interest in our lives, and a helping hand. Last week, we had the honour of singing for her funeral. I found out she had requested us when she was planning her funeral music. We are humbled.
