One week remaining before my son returns to college has got me thinking….

I recalled Allen Levi’s book, “Theo of the Golden” and something my mom reminded me of not too long ago: that in the rush of the mundane of everyday life, we can move so quickly through spaces and conversations that we forget to slow down enough to really see the people in front of us.
To notice as Theo did, the expression on their face, the pause before they answer, the feeling behind their words, and all the small things that tell us who they are and what they might need in that moment.

After a week spent with family and my little bird leaving the nest again shortly, I am grounded by the mindful necessity of being present. And more than putting down my phone or looking up from my current project. It isn’t simply about listening to what someone is saying, but about giving them enough of our attention that we actually see them.

Thank you for listening to my rambling as we start the week. 💫

What surprised me most about this 90 DAY FAT LOSS PHASE (not weight loss) wasn’t the numbers. (Gentle reminder: Fat Loss is not weight loss. I gained muscle in my shoulders and quads, meanwhile my underwear sags all the way around my waistline. The numbers won’t tell you that.)

~>The other surprise was how much I still had to unlearn when things get tough.
~>The instinct to push harder when things feel hard.
~>The desire to restrict even more when change isn’t as fast as I would like.
~>The belief that a slower timeline means something is wrong.

None of that holds up in perimenopause. It took me longer than I would like to admit to shift my energy from fighting it to focusing on the real work of building the nourishing habits that I need to practice when life gets tough.

The women I coach are navigating the exact same tension. Doing everything they were told to do and wondering why it stopped working and why it’s so hard. The answer isn’t about your effort. It is that the strategy has not addressed how to take care of the body they are actually living in right now. And that care, cannot just rely on food.

Perimenopause and menopause require a level of self awareness and adaptability that generic fitness content cannot begin to address because it’s individual. That the coaching work I do with clients.

If any part of this resonated, the slower timeline, the hormonal curveballs, the exhaustion of applying decade old rules to a body that is quietly asking for something different, I would love to be in your corner for the next chapter.

Application is in my bio or DM me directly. Remember, you are not behind, it’s just a different season in life and you deserve your own strategy.

A weekend of tiny moments that make life feel fulfilling. The best things in life are free. Well, almost…but often shared by really fantastic friends. 💞

I spent years living in Japan and traveling to Korea. What I am sharing this time is the why behind certain key products, and the methods in how and when to use them.

I mention SKII, but I only buy it occasionally (like when I score a 2 for 1 at duty free at the airport in 🇯🇵👌🏻💞🥳). I enjoy trying other product variations from different countries, but I am bias towards essence’s because of my results. I admit I use it a bit egregiously, so I hunt for really good less expensive variations.

Only my mom may watch this all the way through, but if you do, drop a 🍶 below so I know you’re out there. 👇

Hugest Hugs,

Acceptable forms of cardio: singing and dancing for 3 hours with 7 incredibly energetic men. 💜

I kept thinking about my 13 year old self, who was way too self conscious to dance for more than a verse or two. (5’10” since 6th grade, so let’s just say I was VERY aware of taking up space. 😂) She would have absolutely loved every minute of this.

And tonight, I was proud to be an ARMY ally. My height finally came in handy for my friends. 😂

Fave: BTS fan community brought little gifts to gift, everyone was genuinely kind, and there was this incredible sense of connection among people who had never even met before.

The best friendships are built on ordinary days that become unforgettable because of who you’re sharing them with. She reminds me to be more curious, more present, more appreciative, and more connected.

Hallelujah.

🥦 Broccoli microgreens are harvested young, making them especially rich in sulforaphane and polyphenols. Research shows sulforaphane supports the body’s antioxidant defenses via the Nrf2 pathway and has been associated with improvements in blood sugar, insulin sensitivity, blood pressure, and triglycerides in clinical studies using concentrated broccoli sprout extract, not whole food.

Americans average approximately 11 grams of cruciferous vegetables per day. Japan averages 112 grams. Closing that gap is a meaningful and practical starting point before attempting to follow clinical trial protocols. What does 112 grams look like in a day? Two tablespoons of broccoli microgreens on eggs in the morning, half a cup of shredded cabbage at lunch, and a side of broccoli or bok choy at dinner. No capsule required. We are in a time when health conscious people are trialing new research with themselves as test subjects, which makes medical consultation essential before making significant dietary changes or adding supplements at research-level doses.

Broccoli microgreens are a concentrated nutrition boost, not a replacement for vegetables. Eat both.

🌱 Alfalfa sprouts provide beneficial antioxidants, vitamins, and plant compounds, but also contain L-canavanine and estrogenic isoflavones, making them inappropriate for some people including those with lupus, on warfarin, or with hormone-sensitive conditions. Consult your doctor.

⚠️ Food safety matters. Microgreens are grown in soil and harvested above the root lower risk. Sprouts grow in warm humid conditions that favor mold and foodborne illness.

Check both before eating. With the current Cyclospora outbreak linked to fresh produce, knowing where your food comes from matters more than ever.

You can grow microgreens at home in 2 to 10 days.

Supplements top up the tank. Real food fills it. 🌿
