National Grief Awareness Day π
We all experience loss throughout our lifetimes β and for many people, periods of bereavement can be incredibly challenging.
But grief can be complex, and it doesnβt look the same for everyone. People may experience it differently, express it differently, and need different kinds of support to work through it.
For people with learning disabilities, complex support needs or mental health challenges, understanding and expressing grief may bring additional challenges. Their grief may not always look the way we expect it to.
And grief can follow other significant losses too β a relationship, a home, a familiar routine, independence, or a future someone had imagined.
There is no right way to grieve, and no set timeline. Today, weβre recognising the many ways loss can affect people, and the importance of responding with patience, understanding and compassion. π
