BUI POWER AUTHORITY ENGINEERS VISIT TAIN DISTRICT HOSPITAL

A team of electrical engineers from the Bui Power Authority, on Tuesday 9th June 2026, paid a working visit to the facility. This was to assess the power situation in the facility and advice on the need for support with alternative power arrangements. The visit comes on the heels of engagements with the Board Chair of the BPA, Hon Nyamekye-Marfo, the Member of Parliament for Tain Constituency, Hon Ramzy Adams and an appeal made to the Chief Executive Officer, Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam.
Various units were visited including the critical areas, the wards, the water treatment plant and teh morgue.
This support has become necessary after concerns were raised about the unstable power situation in the district and the dire implications on the expensive medical equipment in the faility. The team is expected to put in a technical report that will advice the future of such a project.

The 2026 Surgical Outreach, took off on Monday 8th June 2026. This year's edition commenced with the arrival of 11 volunteer doctors and 4 nurses joining the staff of the facility. The gynecology team was led by Prof Nana Adu-Appiah Kubi, Gynec-Oncologist with the Ho Teaching Hospital and had volunteers from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and the AnA Specialist Hospital, Sunyani.
The surgical team was led by Dr Philip Taah-Amoako, surgeon and Medical Superintendent of the facility. Volunteer doctors and nurses joined in from Dormaa East District Hospital, Wamfie, Holy Family Hospital, Berekum, St Joseph's Catholic Hospital, Koase and Bosomtwe Urology Hospital, Sunyani.

KNIGHTS AND LADIES OF MARSHALL, SUNYANI REGION DONATES TO TAIN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
On Monday 8th June, 2026, the Sunyani Region of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall through the Marshallan Association of St Michael's Parish, Nsawkaw, made a donation of surgical consumables to the Tain District Hospital.
This was as part of activities towards the 3rd Surgical Outreach with the society as part of its centenary celebrations.
The presentation was led by the Assistant Parish Priest of St. Michael's Catholic Parish, Nsawkaw/Banda, Rev. Fr. Bro. Alex Awuah and the Regional Noble Lady, RL Bridget Beyuo Nyiwie.
Receiving the items, the Nurse Manager, Mr Welbek Asamoah and Head of Administration, Mr Ofori-Agyei expressed their appreciation and assured them of the cooperation of the facility to ensure a successful surgical outreach.
This officially kicked off the 2026 surgerython of the facility with about 25 volunteer surgeons, nurses and anaesthetists expected to join hospital staff for the free surgeries.

BOARD CHAIR OF BUI POWER AUTHORITY VISITS TDH.

The facility on was Tuesday 2nd June, 2026 privileged to receive the Board Chairman of the Bui Power Authority, Hon. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo. The visit of the veteran politician and statesman was at the instance of the leadership of the facility and a follow-up on the 60th anniversary objectives.
Discussions centred on enhancing collaborations between the Tain District Hospital and the Bui Power Authority, which falls within the facility's catchment area. The leadership of the hospital thanked the former ambassador for the support received during the 60th anniversary and reiterated its commitment to more health related activities within the Banda District.
On his part, Hon. Nyamekye-Marfo commended staff for ensuring a well maintained facility and promised to enhance stakeholder support to the facility.

TAIN DISTRICT HOSPITAL TO BENEFIT FROM FREE DIALYSIS SUPPORT PROGRAMME.

As part of the government's commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage, the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama has initiated a free dialysis support program under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
In furtherance of this agenda, the President launched the Ghana Medical Trust Fund ("MahamaCares"), a landmark initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to individuals living with chronic diseases across the country.
TAIN District Hospital, through the efforts of the Member of Parliament, Hon Ramzy Adams, is one of two beneficiary facilities in the Bono Region.
To initiate processes towards the establishment of the Dialysis Unit, the facility on Thursday 21st May 2026 received a technical team from the Ministry of Health, Ghana and the Ghana Health Service. The team was led by Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Gyamfi of the Infrastructure Department of the Ghana Health Service. This was to assess the proposed space and suitability for the installation processes to begin. The facility is billed to receive up to 10 dialysis machines and hopefully serve a minimum of 4 districts/municipalities within the region.
