Morning all

I was in the swimming pool just after 6.30am and feels great to be back at the pool.

Although I’m not a great swimmer and I’m not a fan of all the “palava” that goes with swimming but feels great once it’s done.

I’m not a confident swimmer and had lessons some years ago as couldn’t get my face/head under water. I overcame that but today I felt like I could do with some lessons to get back swimming more confidently and with different strokes.

So I’m going to book those 🥰

Have you lost confidence in something but would love to start again?

That first step is the hardest one - but is the one to take to do “that thing” again - whatever it might be 🥰

I always feel nervous going to a pool I’ve not been to, or not been to in a long while. And it’s silly things like…..can I put my flip flops somewhere close to getting out of the pool so I’m not walking too far in bare feet, can I leave my glasses close by for when I get out, where can I put my towel,.,….silly stuff, but I just like to know.

Now I know it’s all ok at the pool I won’t feel nervous next time!

Have a great Tuesday 🥰

Happy Monday all - hope you had a great weekend ☺️

It’s the start of a new week and I’m in serious planning mode now!

I’m in the London Marathon next year and as much as it seems a long way off - it’s only just under 41 weeks ago. Which I know will fly hy.

I’ve got my food, fitness and also relaxation time planed for the week. I want to make sure that by the time the Marathon gets here I’m in the best shape I can be - mentally and physically.

I’ve dropped off some planning recently when I was unwell with vertigo and then knowing I have Ménière’s - as it’s a balance thing and as I had vertigo attack during a training run a while ago, I’m not sure how this will all pan out - so putting Negative Nelly aside and bringing Positive Polly out ☺️

Let me know what are your wellbeing plans for the week.

Have a great day 🥰🥰

Resilience isn’t pretending things are fine or pushing through alone. It’s about caring for ourselves, connecting with others and taking helpful steps forward, even in difficult times

Happy Monday 🥰

I hope you’ve had a great weekend. I had a lovely day out in Broadstairs on Saturday with a couple of friends. We first met June 1979 when we started nursing training together. I left after a year and went back to the civil service where I’d been for 3 years prior to nursing.
I joined nursing for the wrong reasons.
I left for the right reasons.

Anyway…..it was a gorgeous day and great to catch up. Broadstairs is so lovely as well with great coastal walk.

Yesterday was more chilled - food shopping, catch up with my son, daughter in law and then planning my week ahead.

I was looking forward to getting back swimming again today. I’d booked a lane for 6.30am today - but when I got there the pool was closed! Oh well, I’d had a nice early walk getting there and back.

I have a Legs, Bums,Tums (LBT) class booked for this evening 💪🏻

Now my vertigo seems ok 👍🏻 and my knee injury (got that in Florida) has also healed, I’m ready to get back training. I have a half marathon in September plus the main event, the London Marathon in April 2027 - which is just under 43 weeks away and we know that time will fly by. I’ll mix up my runs with other fitness like swimming, strength, mobility/flexibilty to be in best condition I can be in.

I have been diagnosed with Ménière’s which may or may not affect how I exercise but it seems it differs from person to person. I’ll give it my all snd see how it goes.

What’s your movement plans for the week?
Any walks, fitness planed for

It’s good to move your body 😊

It’s felt like a long week this week! Anyone felt the same - or has it been same as usual?

What’s your plans for the weekend and is some rest and relaxation included 🥰

I’m off to the seaside tomorrow 😎😎☀️☀️ to catch up with some friends and expecting trains to all be running ok 💪🏻

Sunday - I’m sorting out “bits” at home which includes some tidying up/housekeeping of emails and phone messages/photos etc. I got a new phone recently but didn’t want to bring over the “rubbish/old stuff) from the current phone. Once it’s tidied and I switch phones I’m making a commitment to keep straight with all that admin kind of things.

Whatever you’re doing, enjoy it 💕
