Just thrilled to be able to get away and attend Lee FitzGerald symposium for addiction and mental health professionals in 🎉 catching up with friends, colleagues and associates old and new from all over the globe was absolutely heart warming.

Once again I was reminded of just how serious, challenging and taxing our work can be and more so, the importance of authentic connection, caring and celebrating each other is. After all, it’s the laughter we are after right and Lees event never fails to deliver 💕

Very much enjoyed updating on our work and progress in the Middle East along with our London based services both residential and community based.

Prescription drug dependence is a serious issue that can affect anyone, regardless of age or background. Whether it's opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants, prolonged use can lead to physical and psychological reliance, and this can occur even when people take their medication as prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Withdrawal symptoms, including nausea, sweating, tremors and intense cravings are common when the drug is stopped suddenly. Psychological dependence can also lead to a strong desire to keep using the medication to alleviate emotional distress.

Prescription drug addiction is often underestimated; however, tolerance can quickly develop, leading to higher doses and, eventually, addiction. Additionally, misuse of prescription drugs can have serious legal and social consequences.

Treatment often involves medical detox followed by therapy to address the underlying reason for dependence.
