did you know arm lift results were this instant?

Brachioplasty under local anaesthetic is one of our favourite procedures at UKSKIN because it is so satisfying!

18/05/2026

One of the most common questions before cosmetic surgery. What anaesthetic will I need, and is it safe?

At UKSKIN we offer the full range of anaesthetic options, local anaesthetic, sedation, and general anaesthetic, and all three are extremely safe. Here is exactly what each one means for you.

Local anaesthetic

The anaesthetic is injected directly into the skin. You will be fully awake and completely aware throughout, but you will not feel any pain. This is used for smaller procedures and is straightforward, effective and very well tolerated.

Sedation

A qualified anaesthetist is present in theatre throughout. A small cannula is placed in the back of the hand and medication is given to help you fully relax. Most patients find they drift off into a light sleep. This is a fantastic option for intermediate procedures, offering comfort and calm without the need for full general anaesthetic.

General anaesthetic

For more complex procedures such as abdominoplasty and breast surgery, general anaesthetic may be required. You will be completely asleep and feel nothing at all. This is reserved for the larger cases where it is clinically appropriate.

At UKSKIN, the right option is always tailored to you, your procedure and your individual needs. This is something discussed and agreed in your consultation so that you know exactly what to expect before you ever step into theatre.

If you have questions about a procedure and want to understand all of your options, UKSKIN has clinics in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Click the link in our bio to start your journey, or comment UKSKIN below and we will send everything straight to your inbox.

She lost 6 and a half stone. Then she came to UKSKIN to finish the job.

Meet Vicky. An incredible woman who put in the hard work, lost over six stone, and completely transformed her life. But after that kind of weight loss, excess skin on the arms is almost inevitable, and no amount of exercise changes that. The skin simply cannot keep up.

Vicky came to UKSKIN for an arm lift combined with VASERlipo, and we could not be prouder of her result. Loose, excess skin removed. Arms reshaped and contoured. And a patient who is absolutely over the moon with what she sees. She deserves every bit of it.

One thing that surprises many patients is that this procedure was performed entirely under local anaesthetic. No general anaesthetic, no hospital stay, and a recovery that fits around real life. It is one of the reasons so many of our arm lift patients tell us the experience was far more straightforward than they expected.

At UKSKIN, arm lift surgery combined with VASER is our approach to achieving the most sculpted, natural and lasting result possible. Rather than addressing skin alone, VASER allows us to precisely treat the underlying fat at the same time, giving a smoother contour and a result that truly reflects the work our patients have already put in.

Vicky is only at the beginning of her healing journey, stay tuned for some information on scar aftercare!

If you have been on your own journey and feel like your arms are holding you back from fully owning it, UKSKIN has clinics in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Click the link in our bio to start your journey, or comment UKSKIN below and we will send everything straight to your inbox.

Upper blepharoplasty is one of the most effective and transformative procedures we offer at UKSKIN, and one of the most misunderstood. Here is what you actually need to know.

What is upper blepharoplasty?

It is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin from the upper eyelid. As we age, the skin above the eye gradually loses elasticity and begins to droop, creating a heavy, hooded appearance that can make you look older or persistently tired. In more advanced cases it can even begin to affect your field of vision.

Who is it for?

Anyone bothered by heavy, drooping or hooded upper eyelids. It is one of the most requested procedures across all age groups, and the results are long lasting. Skincare cannot address excess skin. Upper blepharoplasty can.

What does recovery look like?

Most patients are back to normal daily activity within one to two weeks. Swelling and bruising settle gradually, and the full result continues to refine for up to twelve months. The downtime is manageable, and for most people, completely worth it.

Why UKSKIN?

Our upper blepharoplasty procedures are performed by Dr Apostolos, whose results are consistently praised for their precision and natural appearance. The goal is never to change how you look. It is to restore the version of yourself that feels most like you.

Keloids are one of the most challenging skin concerns to treat. Here is what actually works, and what you need to know before you start.

This is a patient treated by Dr Rajive at UKSKIN. Keloid excision combined with steroid injections, delivered as part of a carefully managed treatment plan. The result shows a significant improvement in the appearance of the keloid, and more importantly, a patient who finally feels like themselves again.

We always lead with honesty at UKSKIN, so here is what you need to understand about keloids. They have a known recurrence rate. Even following successful excision, keloids can return, and no clinic or surgeon can guarantee that they will not. Anyone who tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. What we can do is give you the best possible chance of a lasting result through the right combination of excision and intralesional steroid injections, which work to suppress the abnormal scarring response that causes keloids to form in the first place.

Keloids form when the body overproduces collagen during the healing process, creating a raised, firm scar that grows beyond the boundary of the original wound. They are more common in darker skin tones and can develop after surgery, piercings, acne or even minor trauma. They can be itchy, tender and deeply uncomfortable, both physically and emotionally.

If you have been living with a keloid and want an honest conversation about your options, UKSKIN has clinics in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Click the link in our bio to start your journey, or comment UKSKIN below and we will send everything straight to your inbox.

Men, this one is for you.

Tired eyes are not just a cosmetic concern. Heavy, drooping upper eyelids can make you look exhausted, older, and even affect your vision. Upper blepharoplasty is one of the most transformative procedures we perform at UKSKIN, and more men than ever are choosing it.

What you are seeing in these before and afters is real, unfiltered recovery. This is just 7 days post op. The swelling and bruising you see is completely normal and part of the healing process. The final result continues to improve over the following weeks, and the difference is life changing.

Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin from the upper eyelid through a precise, discreet incision that heals beautifully within the natural crease of the eye. The result is a refreshed, sharper, more alert appearance. Not dramatic. Not overdone. Just you, looking like the best version of yourself.

Men deserve to feel confident in their appearance too, and there is nothing stopping you from exploring what surgery could do for you.

UKSKIN has clinics in London, Manchester and Birmingham, and our expert team are ready to guide you every step of the way. Click the link in our bio to start your journey, or comment UKSKIN below and we will send everything straight to your inbox.
