What happens when you let children lead with curiosity, play and imagination?
Artist Halima Akhtar shares a glimpse of ‘Spaces to Explore’, The Line’s two-year collaborative schools’ project with three Newham primary schools and seven artist-facilitators.
Halima and the Year 3 and 4 children have explored process-led making: drawing with their whole bodies, looking closely, zooming out, and finding new ways to take inspiration from the world around them. Two years in, that time spent getting to know one another has made space for work that’s even more expressive, playful and full of storytelling.
The project now comes together in our exhibition, open from today. Come and see what they’ve made.
