When we tell office or desk based workers that they need to move regularly throughout the day, they often ask for some specific things that they can do at work. Here are 5 examples of simple exercises that you can incorporate into your day that don’t need any kit or equipment and can be done at your desk or office space, in the gym or at home. Each can take just 5 minutes – perfect for a quick break. ⌚

These muscle activation / strength exercises keep blood flowing to muscles that may not be used a great deal when we sit all day at work.

Some might think that stepping away from their desk when they are busy will make them less productive, but it actually boosts our energy levels, increases our creativity and improves our concentration – so actually improving our productivity. πŸ“ˆ πŸ™Œ

Hit save and try these on your next break.

Cancer affects so many of us, and at Pure Sports Medicine, we’re committed to helping people regain strength, confidence and quality of life during and after treatment.

A diagnosis can bring fatigue, loss of independence and long‑lasting side effects. But the research is clear: people living with and beyond cancer can safely exercise, and doing so can improve fitness, function and overall wellbeing. In fact, studies show active survivors have around a 30% lower risk of recurrence compared to those who remain inactive.

So how much exercise is helpful? What types support recovery? And how does movement protect both physical and mental health through treatment?

To unpack all of this, cancer rehab specialists Dean Sutton (Strength & Conditioning Coach) and Jessica Patel (Physiotherapist) discuss it in detail on the latest episode of the Pure Pod. πŸŽ™οΈ

We are delighted to be supporting the Ash family in their epic challenge to both row across the Atlantic Ocean and raise Β£500,000 for Suicide&Co in memory of Robert, the family's husband, father and friend lost to su***de in September 2023.

The 3,000-mile journey known as the 'World's Toughest Row' starts in La Gomera in the Canary Islands and ends in Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua. Wife Charlotte, daughter Camilla, and sons James and Henry will be completely self-sufficient on their journey which could take up to 60 days and a minimum of 1.5 million oar strokes as their bodies consume over 5,000 calories each per day.

To achieve such a feat, the family are required to undergo two years of intensive training and, along with helping to raise money, Pure Sports Medicine will be providing the Ash family with their very own multidisciplinary team to ensure they are primed and ready for when they set off in December next year.

We are also delighted to extend our support by announcing our first-ever charitable partner in Suicide&Co (https://hubs.la/Q04l_kgp0) to help raise awareness and funds for this incredible charity which provides support to those bereaved by su***de.

We will be supporting both the Ash family and Suicide&Co with various initiatives over the next 18 months, so please keep your eyes peeled for ways to get involved and show your support.

In the meantime, you can make a donation to the cause at https://hubs.la/Q04l_jV_0.
