Liaise has been shortlisted for Specialist Care Provider of the Year (Large Group) at the National Care Awards 2026!

For us, this recognition is all about the people we support and the amazing things they achieve every day.

Across both residential care and supported living services, we support adults with learning disabilities and autistic people to live lives that are meaningful to them. Whether that's moving into a new home, becoming more independent, building confidence, developing new skills, strengthening relationships or becoming more involved in their local community, we are privileged to be part of those journeys.

Every day, we see people overcome challenges, achieve personal goals and thrive in ways that matter to them. From finding their voice and making more choices about their future, to taking on leadership roles through our Influencers Network and helping shape the support they receive, their achievements continually inspire us.

This recognition also reflects the dedication, compassion and expertise of our colleagues, and the support of families, professionals and partners who work alongside us every day. We've loved seeing people getting their hands dirty and enjoying this year's Liaise in Bloom gardening competition!

From choosing what to plant and growing their own fruit and vegetables, to creating colourful garden displays and relaxing outdoor spaces, it's been great to see so many people getting involved in activities they enjoy and taking pride in the results.

For many of the people we support, gardening is more than just planting flowers. It's a chance to spend time outdoors, learn something new and create green spaces they can enjoy throughout the season.

The enthusiasm, creativity, and care that's gone into the entries has been fantastic to see. A huge well done to everyone who's taken part!

Ang values spending time with his family, so celebrating his mum's birthday together at Thorpe Park was a particularly special experience.

The day gave Ang the opportunity to strengthen family connections, enjoy new experiences, and build lasting memories with the people who matter most to him.

It's a great example of how achieving personal outcomes is often about supporting people to live the life they choose and enjoy the moments that bring them happiness!

MFest brought together people we support, their families and Liaise colleagues from across our South region for a brilliant day of fun, laughter and community.

This year's superhero theme was a huge hit, and it was fantastic to see so many people getting involved by dressing up in their favourite costumes. From superheroes and sidekicks to some very creative characters, everyone embraced the theme and helped make the day extra special.

There was a real buzz throughout the event, with people enjoying the activities, entertainment, great food and, most importantly, spending time together. It was wonderful to see new friendships being made, familiar faces catching up and everyone having the opportunity to be part of something special.

Events like MFest are a great reminder of the importance of community. They bring people together, strengthen connections and create opportunities for the people we support, families and colleagues to celebrate, have fun and make lasting memories.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to the colleagues who helped make the day happen - we're already looking forward to next year!

Over the summer, we've really enjoyed recognising some fantastic colleagues through our Above & Beyond recognition programme!

Whether it's stepping in to help a teammate, going the extra mile for the people we support, or making a positive difference in their local community, these colleagues have shown what living our values really looks like.

It's always inspiring to read the nominations and hear the stories behind them. So much of what makes Liaise special is the care, commitment and teamwork shown by our colleagues every day.

A huge congratulations to everyone who has been recognised over the past few months, and thank you for everything you do. We love celebrating these moments and shining a light on the people making a real difference across Liaise!

This week, we were delighted to welcome two of our brilliant Influencers, Phil and Rachael, to our Support Office.

Our Influencers are people we support who share their ideas, experiences and views to help shape what we do at Liaise.

Phil and Rachael joined us to talk about the importance of communication in supporting people to make their own choices and decisions. They shared how they prefer their keyworkers to communicate with them so they can fully understand what's being asked and make informed, free choices. We also discussed the importance of recognising non-verbal communication, as many people communicate through their behaviour, facial expressions, body language or assistive communication methods.

A huge thank you to Phil and Rachael for helping us continue to listen, learn and improve the support we provide.

This year, we're proud to celebrate an incredible milestone as Karen, our brilliant Home Manager at Bramshaw, marks 20 years with Liaise.

Since joining us in 2006, Karen has made a lasting difference to the lives of the people she supports, while building strong relationships with colleagues across the South East. Her dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment have helped make Bramshaw the welcoming and supportive home it is today.

Reflecting on her journey, Karen shared that what continues to inspire her most is the people she supports, who challenge her to keep learning, growing and striving to make a positive difference every day.

From organising memorable events to supporting colleagues to develop and succeed, Karen's impact over the past two decades has been truly remarkable.

Thank you, Karen, for everything you do. Congratulations on an amazing 20 years of service!

We recently caught up with Ellie, one of our in-house Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), to learn more about her role and the impact communication support has at Liaise.

From helping individuals express their needs and make choices to building confidence and independence, Ellie sees first-hand how the right communication strategies can transform lives.
