We were lucky enough to welcome the ice cream van to Henry Nihill House a few days ago, bringing plenty of smiles to our residents. 🍦

Everyone enjoyed choosing their favourite flavour and spending time together outdoors, making the most of the lovely weather. It was a simple afternoon that brought lots of laughter and happy memories.

Pictured is our Home Manager, Florence, alongside the ice cream van, which was a wonderful addition to the afternoon and brought lots of enjoyment to our residents.

🍓☀️ A Perfect Summer Afternoon ☀️🍓

There are few things that say summer quite like strawberries and cream!

Our residents and staff enjoyed spending time together in the garden this afternoon, making the most of the beautiful sunshine while sharing this delicious seasonal treat. It was a lovely opportunity to relax, chat and enjoy each other’s company in the fresh air.

At Henry Nihill House, it’s often the simple moments that bring the greatest joy, and afternoons like these remind us how important it is to make time for laughter, friendship and creating happy memories together.

🎾 Game, Set, Match... Henry Nihill House! 🎾

With Wimbledon getting underway, our residents got into the tennis spirit with our very own indoor balloon tennis tournament! 🎈🎾

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition and some surprisingly impressive rallies as everyone enjoyed keeping the balloon in play. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, cheers and encouragement as residents took part and supported one another.

Activities like this are a great way to keep active, improve coordination and, most importantly, have fun together. We can't wait to see what the rest of the Wimbledon fortnight brings!

What a fantastic afternoon of European Bingo here at Henry Nihill House! 🎉🌍

Our residents had a wonderful time testing their luck, sharing plenty of laughs, and enjoying some friendly competition.

A huge congratulations to Marion, who was our lucky winner! 🏆 She chose this beautiful scarf as her prize, and we think it suits her perfectly. 💜🧣

Well done, Marion, and thank you to everyone who joined in and made it such an enjoyable afternoon. We can't wait for our next game!

☀️ Keeping cool in the sunshine! 🍦

Our residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the garden, treating themselves to refreshing ice lollies while making the most of the warm weather.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and favourite flavours shared as everyone enjoyed some time outdoors. 🌿💛

A few days ago, we were delighted to celebrate two very special milestones at Henry Nihill House.

We joined Mother Abbess in marking her Golden Jubilee as a nun, giving thanks for 50 years of faithful service, dedication and prayer. It was a wonderful occasion filled with joy, gratitude and community spirit.

The celebrations were made even more special as the Community also marked 160 years since its foundation. For over a century and a half, the Sisters have been committed to caring for others and serving those in need. We are proud to be part of this legacy and to carry forward the values of compassion, dignity and kindness that have guided the Community for generations.

Congratulations, Mother Abbess, and happy anniversary to the Community on these remarkable milestones. 🎉💛
