🌟 TOP BACK MUSCLES – IN PLAIN ENGLISH 🌟
A strong back is not just for the gym – it’s essential for posture, breathing and keeping aches and pains away. Here are the main “stars” of your back:
Trapezius (traps)
Big diamond‑shaped muscle from neck to mid‑back. Helps you shrug, pull your shoulders back and support your neck and head.
Latissimus dorsi (lats)
Wide “V”‑shaped muscle from mid/lower back to the upper arm. Works when you pull something towards you (like rows or pull‑downs) and helps stabilise the spine.
Rhomboids
Smaller muscles between your shoulder blades. Their job is to squeeze the shoulder blades together and stop them rounding forwards.
Why this matters:
When these muscles are strong and relaxed, they support better posture, reduce strain on joints and can help prevent many types of back pain.
👉 If your back feels tight, rounded or achy, it might be a sign these muscles need a bit of love – movement, stretching, strengthening or a good massage. 💆♀️
