Restorative Yoga is often described as a practice of rest.

Yet rest is not something we can simply make happen.

The body must first recognise sufficient comfort, support, ease, and safety in order to receive it.

This is where I have become increasingly interested.

How do we recognise when the body is settling?

What changes in the breath?

In tissue tone?

In the quality of support being received?

Why does a Restorative pose feel deeply nourishing on one day, yet difficult to settle into on another?

Somatic Restoration explores these questions through direct physical experience.

Not as theory.

Not as philosophy.

But through the body itself.

The breath.

The tissue.

The nervous system.

The body's history, habits, and adaptations.

Together we explore how the application of Restorative Yoga may be refined to better support the conditions from which rest naturally emerges.

This course goes further by answering the problem of how to take your yoga skills and knowledge into your personal and professional life. Inspiring seminars with leading teachers are woven together through live group supervision and integration sessions with Dr Stanford Wong - medical doctor, yoga therapist, and yoga teacher. These sessions ensure that learning is not just understood intellectually, but embodied, applied, and personalised.
