If you stretch, foam roll or book the odd massage, yet the same tension keeps creeping back, I want to share something I see all the time.
We often treat the spot that hurts, rather than looking at the system underneath it.
Your fascia is one continuous web of connective tissue, linking everything from the soles of your feet to the base of your skull. So when one area becomes restricted, the effects can travel elsewhere.
In my work, I see it regularly: tight hips showing up as lower back tension, or a restricted chest changing the way the shoulders move.
So the back you keep stretching may simply be compensating for something else.
One thing my work has taught me is that the body is incredibly connected, and the source of tension isn’t always where you feel it.
Swipe through to see how it all connects.
