GRIEF IS A NATURAL PART OF LIFE, BUT IT CAN AFFECT US MORE DEEPLY THAN WE REALISE 😔

Grief has many faces. It may follow the loss of a loved one, a friend, a pet, a job, or even a part of ourselves. It doesn’t follow a timeline, and it doesn’t look or feel the same for everyone.

For some, grief manifests not only in the heart, but also in the body, through headaches, nausea, sleep disturbances, or emotional withdrawal. This is where homeopathy can offer gentle support.

One such remedy is Natrum muriaticum, made from salt.

It is often indicated when grief is silent, internalised, and accompanied by physical symptoms like headaches or digestive upset.

By addressing both the emotional and physical layers of grief, may help the body and mind rebalance from within, allowing sorrow to transform and become easier to carry.

This remedy may support those who carry their pain inward and often feel worse from consolation. When in this state, being around others can feel draining, and even the kindest words of comfort may deepen the sadness. There’s a longing to be alone, not out of rejection or because of emotional detachment, but because solitude offers a sense of safety when everything feels too much.

Understanding this state can be a powerful way to support a friend or loved one who is experiencing grief in this way, quietly, inwardly, and often with the need for solitude.

In , we see the individual, not just the symptoms. We aim to restore balance across the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of health.

When prescribed on the basis of individual characteristics and according to the law of similars, Natrum muriaticum can be a powerful remedy for unresolved grief.
And sometimes, just being understood and gently supported without the need for explanation, can be the beginning of healing. ❤️‍🩹

HEALTH EATING ISN'T ONE SIZE FITS ALL 🍎

In today’s world 🌍, nutrition advice is everywhere from vegetarian and vegan diets to carnivore, keto, intermittent fasting, and whole food lifestyles.

From a homeopathic perspective, we recognise that what nourishes one person, may adversely affect another.

Some individuals may experience digestive distress from fruits 🍐or vegetables 🫛, while others might feel unwell after eating meat 🥩

Some people even reacting with nausea to the smell or thought of it.

Likewise, meal frequency varies. Some people thrive on multiple small portions throughout the day, others flourish with fewer bigger meals and intermittent fasting.

This personalised understanding of health challenges the “one-size-fits-all” mentality dominant in mainstream nutrition and healthy lifestyle trends.

Because health is never universal. It’s deeply relational, personal and shaped by your unique biology, your symptoms, and your body's individual responses.

In homeopathy, we don’t just treat symptoms, we treat the individual, respecting the distinct constitution and food preferences.

This means recognising the complex interplay between diet, lifestyle, and individual sensitivity.

Are you curious about how embracing your unique biology might unlock better health and well-being?

Explore how can offer tailored insights and support your overall because health is not just about following trends, but about listening to your body’s signals and responses.

WHEN THE SUN HITS, NOT EVERYONE BLOOMS 🌻

While some people feel energised and expansive under the sun 🌞, others feel drained, agitated, or deeply unwell.

A reflection on sun sensitivity, sunstroke and how can help.
For many, summer means freedom, long evenings, beach life, and open skies.
But not everyone thrives in the heat 🔥. And not everyone flourishes in the light ☀️

For some, it brings:

- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Irritability
- An overwhelming sense of exhaustion

The strong sun can trigger migraines, nausea, skin eruptions, anxiety or a complete shutdown of energy.

Even without full-blown sunstroke, the body may react to overexposure with symptoms that linger.

And for the sun-sensitive, even moderate heat can disturb the system’s delicate balance.

Homeopathy takes this sensitivity seriously.

It recognises that some people react more intensely to certain stimuli, be it the weather, emotions, or environmental stress.

The goal is not to suppress symptoms, but to support the body’s natural ability to return to equilibrium.

- Homeopathy honours our differences.
- Our susceptibilities, our sensitivities, our stories.
- It meets you where you are, not where others think you should be.
- Each remedy is carefully selected based on the individual’s specific symptoms, physical, emotional, and mental.

In homeopathy, there is no one-size-fits-all.
The remedy must resonate with the person’s totality.
And so, for those who struggle in the heat, or in the light,
there may be a homeopathic remedy waiting to help you feel more at ease,
more at peace, more at home under the sun.

Our latest Congress Speaker in the Spotlight is Geoff Johnson, a Homeopath for people and animals. His presentation is entitled, “Placenta 'The forgotten Lac' and its comparison to the 2026 proving of Uterus humanum”.

Read on for a summary of Geoff’s presentation.

“I have seen patients prescribed many Lacs with partial success, and the case solved or moved on by Placenta. I want to look at the deep experience/sensation of Lacs vs Placenta, illustrated by cases in humans and animals. I saw a glaring gap in the materia medica and this June conducted a meditative proving of Uterus at the School of Homeopathy, Stroud. The experience was phenomenal, with the provers guessing the source of the remedy at the end of the session. I will introduce this new proving”.

And what is Geoff most looking forward to at Congress?

“Dancing with all my homeopathic friends”.

ARE YOU PLANNING TO TRAVEL THIS SUMMER? ☀️

This one homeopathic remedy might just save your holiday. ⛱️
Many of us have experienced it.

A new country, exciting food and then suddenly, severe food poisoning.
Vomiting, diarrhoea, burning pains, restlessness.

A nightmare especially on vacation.

You might want to consider packing Arsenicum album.

This classic homeopathic remedy is often used for acute food poisoning caused by contaminated food or water.

It’s a staple in many homeopaths’ travel kits and for very good reason.
Key symptoms Arsenicum album may help with:

- Cramping, burning stomach pains
- Nausea and vomiting (often worse after drinking water)
- Diarrhoea with exhaustion
- Restlessness and anxiety
- A need for reassurance and company

But like all homeopathic remedies, Arsenicum album should be prescribed individually, based on the total symptom picture, including physical, emotional, and mental aspects.

In a case of holiday food gone wrong, Arsenicum album may offer support, when the symptoms match.

Sometimes one small remedy in your bag 👜 can make a big difference on your journey.

HOW ONE HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY TRANSFORMED A PATIENT'S SPRING 🌸

You know the feeling when you're chopping onions. 🧅
Eyes 👀 burning, stinging, streaming and the nose is running.

Now imagine experiencing that every time you step outside during pollen season.
For some people with hay fever, that’s a daily reality.

And it's here that the homeopathic remedy Allium cepa, which is made from red onion, can offer powerful relief.

When prescribed based on a matching symptom picture, it has helped patients with watery eyes, burning nasal discharge, sneezing, and sensitivity to pollen.
Like this 63 year old woman, generally fit and healthy, who presented with seasonal hay fever.

She was not taking any medications and was unfamiliar with homeopathy, but keen to explore natural alternatives and avoid conventional drugs.
She was reassured to learn that homeopathic remedies are gentle, natural and non-toxic.

Her main symptoms included:
-Copious, clear nasal discharge
-Burning, watery, red eyes
-A gagging sensation in the throat
-Symptoms that worsened from afternoon into evening
-Symptoms were better in cool, fresh air and worse indoors in warm rooms

She was prescribed Allium cepa 30C, which she took 4 times, every 15 min.
Within just 30 minutes, her symptoms had significantly improved and soon disappeared completely.

She was amazed by the speed and effectiveness of the remedy.
There has been no recurrence to date.

This case beautifully illustrates how a well matched homeopathic remedy can provide meaningful support to someone suffering from hayfever.

Congress Speaker in the Spotlight is a new feature where we will put the spotlight on the talented people who will be presenting at the Faculty of Homeopathy Congress, 19-22 November 2026.

This week the spotlight is on Faculty President Lee Kayne whose presentation is entitled,“One size fits all…and other fallacies”.

Read on for a summary of Lee’s presentation.

“Healthcare has long built its evidence base around the average patient on the assumption that what works for the average will work well enough for everyone else. The presentation asks what happens when that assumption is tested and what it means for homeopathy, a modality founded on individuality.

It argues that healthcare is only now heading towards a place homeopathy has occupied for two centuries. The question is no longer whether individualised, whole-person care is the right ambition, but why a profession already practising it struggles to be heard.

This is the challenge to the homeopathic profession. To communicate beyond its own walls and make a case colleagues across medicine can no longer ignore”.

When motion sickness overshadows the journey

A winding mountain road, a ferry crossing, or a flight through turbulence.
For some people, these are simply part of the holiday season. For others, they may be associated with nausea, dizziness, cold sweats, headaches, exhaustion, and a sense of misery that turns travel into an ordeal rather than a pleasure.

Motion sickness affects people of all ages and can significantly limit the freedom to travel comfortably. Yet not everyone experiences it in the same way.
Some feel worse when looking at moving objects. Others become ill when reading in a car or while travelling by sea.

Homeopathy approaches motion sickness from an individual perspective.
Rather than assuming that everyone needs the same support, the homeopathic consultation seeks to understand how symptoms present in each person, what appears to trigger them, and how they are experienced physically and emotionally.

As the summer holiday season approaches, it is worth considering how differently individuals may respond to the same journey.
Homeopathy recognises that susceptibility to motion sickness varies widely between individuals.

Remedies that may be indicated in cases of motion sickness include cocculus indicus, tabacum, phosphorus and arsenicum.
However, the selection of a homeopathic remedy is not based solely on the diagnosis of motion sickness, but on the individual's particular experience of symptoms and their response to travel and movement. Because homeopathy takes an individualised approach to care, consultation with a qualified practitioner is recommended when selecting a remedy.

When the journey begins before the flight
For many people, the anticipation of a holiday brings excitement and joy.
Yet for others, the thought of flying can trigger significant anxiety long before they step onto the aircraft.

In homeopathy, there is no single remedy for fear of flying. One person may experience anticipatory anxiety accompanied by digestive upset, another sudden panic during take-off, and a third overwhelming weakness and trembling before departure. While two people may be boarding the same flight, their emotional and physical responses can be entirely different.

Flight anxiety may present as racing thoughts, restlessness, difficulty sleeping, digestive disturbances, acute panic, or a persistent sense of dread in the days leading up to travel.

This is where homeopathy offers a unique perspective.
Rather than focusing solely on the label of "fear of flying", homeopathy seeks to understand the individual's experience. The same journey may evoke very different emotional and physical responses from one person to another.
Each person's response tells a different story.
The homeopathic consultation provides space to explore these individual patterns and reactions, recognising that anxiety is not merely a symptom to be managed, but an experience that deserves to be understood within the context of the whole person.

As the summer travel season begins, it is worth remembering that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health.

Remedies frequently considered in cases of fear of flying include Argentum nitricum, Aconitum napellus, Gelsemium sempervirens, and Arsenicum album. The choice of remedy is guided by the individual's unique experience, symptom pattern, and response to travel-related anxiety.
Because homeopathy takes an individualised approach to care, consultation with a qualified practitioner is recommended when selecting a remedy.
