🌒 SOLAR ECLIPSE TODAY — PROTECT YOUR EYES! 👀☀️

Today’s partial solar eclipse is an exciting sight, but looking directly at the Sun can cause serious and permanent damage to your eyes.

☀️ Why? Even during an eclipse, the Sun’s rays are still powerful enough to damage the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of your eye. The retina has no pain receptors, so you may not realise damage is happening until it’s too late.

A few important reminders:

🕶️ Regular sunglasses are NOT safe for viewing an eclipse — even very dark ones don't provide enough protection.

📱 Don’t look through your phone camera, binoculars or telescope at the Sun unless the equipment has been specifically designed and safely filtered for solar viewing.

👧 Take extra care with children and make sure they understand not to look directly at the Sun.

If you don't have suitable eye protection, the safest option is to enjoy the eclipse indirectly rather than looking at the Sun.
