Gut health nutritionist, naturopath with a functional medecine approach working 1-1 with clients to transform their health

Transformational magical retreat leader & yoga, breathwork, meditation teacher & reiki master/quantum energy healer It was 2011 and I had built a successful career in advertising, whilst, numbing myself to the stresses of life with a typical London hedonistic lifestyle. I wa

s unaware that what I was really seeking was what yogis call ‘samadhi’ - a state of eternal bliss deep inside us all. I was always into yoga but never committed to a daily regular practise. One day, however, I was lying in savasna, at the end of a gruelling bikram class, when I heard a voice inside my head. It told me that yoga was my entry point to the joy I had been seeking, and I needed to go to India to deepen my learnings. I immediately enrolled in a beginners ashtanga course at Gingi Li’s Ashtanga Shala, in Clapham North, learning the fundamentals from the first of

many inspiring teachers. I woke up at 6am everyday to practise mysore style ashtanga and six months later, I quit my advertising job and flew to Goa, India to take part in a month long Ashtanga Yoga teacher training course. In India I was reborn through the healing powers of yoga. I graduated from my class, and was immediately offered a job teaching yoga in Goa. The universe was giving me clear signs! Over the next five years I spent my summers in London and winters in India and Thailand - gaining my 500 hour advanced TTC in ashtanga as well as my Reiki Master whilst teaching & learning esoteric practises in the east. My life changed when I listened to that little voice in my head, which I now see as my higher power guiding me and I realised that you can find the peace you are seeking internally through meditation and spiritual practises, a very valuable and transformational lesson. I learnt the meaning of self-care and self-love and slowly yet steadily I grew, physically, emotionally, spiritually into the person I am today. I was always an avid cook but through my winters in Asia, my interests grew massively in health and nutrition dabbling in veganism and raw veganism for many years. A huge part of my healing journey was related to food and diet, removing gluten, diary, processed foods & meat to heal severe digestive issues including IBS as well as skin issues like urticaria & attending many fasting/detox retreats. This avid interest in the healing powers of nature led me to 3 years of diploma study at College of Naturopathic Nutrition (CNM) graduating as a Naturopathic Nutritionist. The nutrition course also made me investigate my own nutrition, realising after 6 years of veganism that this diet was not working for me. I found that I was deficient in many micronutrients, along with thyroid and adrenal issues exacerbated by large amounts of stress caused by my career in advertising. Using functional medecine testing including nutrigenetics finally helped me to realise that veganism did not serve me and led me to the genuine realisation that there is no one diet that works for everyone, we are all unique individuals with different nutritional needs based on our ancestry, environment and experiences. My experiences and experimentations with different dietary models means that I can help both vegans and non-vegans alike make their way to optimum health and nutrition. I also work with clients to find and maintain optimal weight, healing their relationships with food and helping clients to see that weight loss does not need to include fad restrictive diets but more of a lifestyle change towards healthier eating & living. And having had a history of childhood disordered eating which I used many tools to heal, I recently completed the National Centre for Eating Disorder training to further assist my weight loss clients with healthier relationships to food. As well as that having experienced and healed my gut issues, gut health is another specialism of mine working to heal IBS, reflux, IBD and many complex gut issues. As well as female hormonal balancing in terms of perimenopause and menopause and thyroid issues amongst other complex cases. I passionately believe in the healing power of nature and now work with an integrative approach to nutrition and healthcare, incorporating the whole person and providing an overall holistic wellness offering. I believe that you must heal the mind alongside diet & lifestyle changes, you cannot fix one without the other. Through my experiences and studies I can help individuals heal holistically through one to one nutrition consultations, guided meditations, yoga lessons, pranayama or reiki healing. There's nothing I love more than sharing my knowledge and positive energy to help my clients achieve their goals and heal.

Mould toxins don’t just make your home sick—they can hijack your nervous system. Mycotoxins trigger histamine release from overactive mast cells while flooding the brain with inflammatory cytokines, creating the perfect storm for anxiety and OCD-like intrusive thoughts.

Studies have found people exposed to mould had 83% higher odds of anxiety symptoms (PMID: 39241605). These same toxins drive oxidative stress and neuroinflammation, which damage the prefrontal cortex—the brain’s “brake pedal” for worry and compulsions—leaving you stuck in a loop of fear and rituals.

If your anxiety or OCD suddenly got worse after something inexplicable mould could be the hidden trigger. Most of my clients where this was a piece of their health puzzle couldn’t see or smell it. This isn’t about living in fear, obsession or being a hypochondriac. It’s about empowerment. The body is amazingly resilient. You just have to understand whats really happening under the surface.

🧠 Comment “CALM” below in the comments if you want me to send you my new podcast i recorded with @‌collegeofnaturopathicmedecine on mould and the protocol approach I’ve seen work best to regulate the nervous system, calm the brain and be free of mould x

🎙️ A little behind the scenes…

Today I recorded a podcast with a brilliant brand, .life .professional talking all things nutrition, gut health, hormones, energy and what actually happens beneath the surface when we’re not feeling our best.

I genuinely love these conversations because there’s so much more to health than simply looking at symptoms in isolation. Understanding the why behind what’s happening is where things start to get interesting.

If you’re a brand, business or podcast host looking for a nutritionist and functional health practitioner to join your podcast, event, campaign or content, I’d love to hear from you.

I can bring a practical, evidence-informed and genuinely human perspective to conversations around nutrition, women’s health, hormones, gut health, stress, energy and functional medicine.

We need BOTH types of fibre if you want to p**p daily! 🌿

I think fibre is one of those things we’re constantly told we need more of, but very few of us are actually taught why, or that different types of fibre do completely different things in the body.

Soluble fibre is particularly important for your gut microbiome because many types are fermented by beneficial bacteria, producing short-chain fatty acids that support the gut lining and metabolic health. It also absorbs water and forms a gel-like substance, which can slow digestion, help you feel fuller for longer and support healthier blood sugar responses after eating.

Insoluble fibre works differently. It adds bulk to your stool and helps move things through the digestive tract, which is particularly important for regular bowel movements and healthy elimination.

So we don’t want to choose between the two, we want a variety of both.

The UK Government recommends adults aim for 30g of fibre a day, yet 96% of UK adults are not meeting this recommendation. Average intake is just 16.4g per day, meaning most people are getting barely half of what they need.

Part of the problem is that we simply don’t know where our fibre comes from. We hear “eat more fibre”, but how many people actually know the difference between soluble and insoluble fibre, or how important fibre is for the bacteria living inside our gut?

Think vegetables, berries, beans and lentils, chia and flax seeds, nuts, seeds, wholegrains and a wide variety of plant foods. The more diverse your plant intake, the more diverse the fibres reaching your gut microbes, and that diversity matters.

Fibre isn’t just about keeping you regular. It plays a role in gut health, microbiome diversity, blood sugar regulation, satiety, bowel health and metabolic health.

If you’re not getting close to 30g a day, don’t suddenly add a huge amount overnight. Gradually increase your intake and make sure you’re drinking enough water alongside it.

30g a day is a great target, but think variety rather than simply chasing a number. Your gut microbes need food too. 🌿

Do you know how much fibre you’re getting? I’d love to know in the comments below.

The Leo New Moon Eclipse: When Your Nervous System Is Ready for a New Chapter

Today we experience a powerful Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse. This one feels less like an invitation to manifest something new and more like an opportunity to become deeply honest about what is no longer working.

Leo is associated with the heart, courage, creativity and our willingness to take up space. But beneath all of that is a much more human question: what happens when we finally allow ourselves to be who we really are?

Because we can know intellectually that something is right for us and still feel enormous fear when we contemplate actually doing it.

We often assume that struggling to change means we lack discipline or willpower. When in reality, our behaviour is often an incredibly intelligent attempt by the nervous system to protect us from something it has learned to perceive as threatening.

Perhaps being visible once meant being criticised. Perhaps expressing your needs led to rejection. Perhaps you learned your value depended on how useful or agreeable you could be.

Over time these patterns become so embedded we stop recognising them. We call it our personality, our anxiety, our perfectionism — without seeing the deeper story underneath.

Ask yourself 👇

🔹 Where are you making yourself smaller than you really are?
🔹 Where are you saying yes when something inside is asking you to say no?
🔹 Where are you living according to an identity you've already outgrown?

Real transformation rarely comes from declaring war on ourselves. It comes from developing enough awareness and compassion to understand ourselves differently.

Enjoy the beautiful eclipse tonight 🤍

My daily matcha ritual 🍵

There is something about making matcha that feels completely different from grabbing a coffee and running out the door. It gives you a reason to slow down, create a little ritual and actually enjoy what you're drinking.

Matcha naturally contains caffeine, but unlike coffee it also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that has been studied for its effects on attention and relaxation. The combination of caffeine and L-theanine is one reason matcha can feel like a more sustained, focused energy for some people, rather than the sharp stimulation they experience from coffee.

And then there are the polyphenols, particularly EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which gives green tea many of its antioxidant properties.

But I don't believe in turning every food into a miracle cure. Matcha isn't going to compensate for poor sleep, chronic stress, a nutrient-deficient diet or running on empty all day.

What I do love is using it as part of a bigger morning ritual — nourishing your body, slowing down for a few minutes and being intentional about how you start your day. I also recommend it as a great swap for my chronically stressed clients as it doesnt have that cortisol spiking element that coffee does.

My simple matcha:
🍵 1 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha
💧 A little hot water — not boiling
🥄 Whisk until beautifully frothy
🥛 Add your favourite milk, i love @‌plenishdrinks or @‌goodbetterbruce
✨ Optional: ceylon cinnamon or vanilla essence or can pimp it up with some collagen

And that's it.

Would you swap your morning coffee for matcha? 👇

☢️ EMFs affect your body at the cellular level

Every day, we move through a dense network of invisible signals. In an increasingly connected world, electromagnetic pollution is becoming a growing threat. It’s silent, but real, and most people are completely unaware about it.

🧠 So what happens when we’re constantly surrounded by this electromagnetic fog?

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 5G all emit electromagnetic fields (EMFs), a form of non-ionizing radiation. While they’re not as dangerous as X-rays, chronic exposure, especially close to the brain and reproductive organs, has raised growing concerns among researchers.

📊 A 2015 study published in Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine found that repeated exposure to these frequencies may alter brain wave activity, with potential effects on sleep, focus, and memory.

Other potential effects associated with EMF exposure may include:

Headaches and migraines

Poor concentration and brain fog

Stress, anxiety, and nervousness

Reduced s***m quality in men

Increased oxidative stress

(Scientific references: PMID: 34617575, 33917298, 30533171, 30023251, 30481957)

✅ Biohacks to reduce your EMF exposure:

(Save this Reel 📌)

Use wired headphones instead of AirPods. DO NOT wear airpods in the sauna, this upsets me so much when i see it!

Put your phone on Airplane Mode while you sleep.

Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth before going to bed.

Charge your devices away from your body. Sleeping with your phone charging on your nightstand while every wireless connection is turned on is one of the worst habits you can have.

Switch your phone to 4G instead of 5G to reduce overall EMF exposure.

This is about being aware so you can thrive in a hyper-connected world without being exposed to unnecessary electromagnetic radiation every single day.
