Trying to lose weight but feeling stuck? These common mistakes can slow progress and make fat loss feel harder than it needs to be.

1️⃣ Extreme restriction / crash dieting
You do not need to cut out your favourite foods to lose weight. Enjoy them in moderation and focus on lower calorie, high protein, high fibre meals that keep you fuller for longer.

2️⃣ Checking your weight daily
Your weight fluctuates because of water retention, hormones, sleep, stress, sodium, digestion, and workouts. Focus on the trend, not one number. Try weekly or bi weekly weigh ins and track measurements too.

3️⃣ Starving all day, then overeating at night
Skipping meals to “save calories” often backfires. Eat balanced meals with protein, fibre, and carbs throughout the day to stay full and reduce overeating at night.

4️⃣ Setting unrealistic expectations or timelines
Sustainable fat loss takes time. You did not gain the weight overnight, so do not expect overnight results. Stay patient, be kind to yourself, and stay consistent.

5️⃣ Comparing your progress to others
Everyone’s body, lifestyle, hormones, genetics, and starting point are different. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not someone online.

Trying to lose weight but still love noodles? 🍜👀 You do NOT have to cut out your favourite foods to lose weight.

This is my high-protein breakfast for weight loss: noodles, tuna, egg, and broccoli, all for 566 calories, 45g protein, and about 8g fiber 🙌

One thing helping me on my weight loss journey is building meals that are:
✅ High in protein
✅ Filling and satisfying
✅ Easy to fit into a calorie deficit
✅ Realistic for everyday life

I currently eat around 1,800 a day, and meals like this help me stay full while hitting my protein goals.

If you’re trying to lose weight in Nigeria, remember: weight loss doesn’t mean starving yourself or giving up foods you enjoy, it’s about portion control, protein, fiber, and consistency 💯

Save this for meal ideas and follow for realistic weight loss tips, calorie deficit meals, and high-protein food ideas.

One of the biggest lessons from my postpartum weight loss journey: it doesn’t always have to be extreme to work. Walking consistently, aiming for 5k–10k steps a day played such a huge role in helping me lose over 20kg postpartum.

My weight loss journey is prof that progress isn’t always loud, but it shows. Over 20kg down. Same person, different mindset, still becoming. Same me, just carrying less and smiling more 💪

One of the hardest parts of weight loss is feeling like you have to cook separate meals from everyone else 😭🍛

But healthy eating should be realistic and sustainable.

That’s why I made this healthy smoky jollof rice recipe that the whole family can enjoy while still fitting into your weight loss goals 👏🏽

Same enjoyment. Smarter cooking method. Better balance ❤️

I shared the full step-by-step recipe on my YouTube channel 🎥

Burning fat isn’t only about workouts and eating less 👇
Sometimes, it’s the small daily habits that quietly slow your progress without you noticing.

Here are 6 habits worth stopping if you want to make fat loss easier and more sustainable:

1️⃣ Mindless snacking
Those little bites throughout the day add up fast. Snacking out of boredom, stress, or habit can easily put you in a calorie surplus without realizing it.

2️⃣ Drinking your calories
Sugary coffees, soft drinks, juices, and alcohol can contain hundreds of extra calories while doing very little to keep you full.

3️⃣ Eating straight out of the packet or bucket
When you don’t portion your food, it’s much easier to overeat. Serving your food on a plate helps you stay more aware of how much you’re actually eating.

4️⃣ Sitting too much during the day
Your daily movement matters more than you think. Walking more, standing more, and staying active throughout the day can help increase calorie burn naturally.

5️⃣ Relying on motivation instead of routine
Motivation comes and goes. Results come from habits and routines you can stick to, even on low energy days.

6️⃣ Eating while distracted (TV, phone, laptop)
When you eat distracted, you’re less likely to notice fullness cues, which often leads to overeating.

Fat loss doesn’t have to be extreme.
Fixing a few daily habits consistently can make a massive difference over time 💯

Motivation comes and goes, but consistency is what truly creates results 👏🏽

You will not feel motivated every single day, and that’s completely normal. The key is building simple habits you can stick to even on difficult days.

Small consistent efforts will always beat extreme short-term motivation. ❤️

20kg down in just 3 months, and no, I didn’t starve myself or give up the foods I love.

Most people assume losing weight means cutting out every local meal and surviving on salads and fruits. But the truth is, you can lose weight eating the same foods you grew up loving if you know how to eat them the right way 💯

My weight loss journey wasn’t about punishment or restriction. It was about strategy, balance, portion control, and consistency. And yes, weight loss can actually be enjoyable, even postpartum ❤️

You don’t have to suffer to see results. You just need the right guidance.

If you’re tired of starting over, tired of restrictive diets, and ready to lose weight in a realistic way that actually fits your lifestyle, then my program is for you.

Happy Mother’s Day to me, and to every mum doing the hard, unseen work every single day. 🤍

10 months ago, I was one week postpartum, exhausted, emotional, and barely recognising myself. Today, I’m over 20kg down, not because I became perfect, but because I kept showing up for myself, one day at a time.

This journey was never just about weight loss. It was about healing, rebuilding my confidence, finding strength again, and proving to myself that I deserve care too.

To every new mum:
Your body is not ruined.
You are not behind.
And you do not have to “bounce back” to be worthy.

Motherhood changes you, but it can also introduce you to a stronger version of yourself.

Here’s to the mums waking up tired but still trying.
The mums healing quietly.
The mums learning to love themselves again.
And the mums choosing themselves while raising everyone else.

You are doing better than you think. 🤍
