A Truly Special Family Moment ❤️

At Aurem Care, we know how important it is to support residents to continue enjoying the moments that matter most.

Recently, Sam , a resident at Westbank Care Home, Borough Green, experienced a day he will never forget as he proudly walked his daughter, Michelle, down the aisle on her wedding day. Supported by carer Valli, Sam was able to be there for this special family celebration, surrounded by loved ones, including his brother and young grandson.

From helping Sam get ready for the big day to ensuring he could enjoy every moment, the team were delighted to play a small part in making this precious occasion possible. Sam described the day as “very emotional”, and it was clear just how much it meant to him and his family.

💐 Sometimes the simplest acts of kindness mean the most. 💐

Residents at Aaron House Care Home, Penicuik recently enjoyed a flower arranging session, creating colourful displays and expressing their creativity. But what made the activity extra special was when residents Jack and Mary chose to gift their arrangement to fellow resident Jean, bringing a huge smile to her face.

The session was filled with laughter, creativity and friendship, with residents supporting one another and enjoying time together. Moments like these highlight the strong bonds that develop within our homes and the kindness our residents show each other every day. 💜

🍂☀️ As Summer Draws to a Close... ☀️🍂

As we say goodbye to another wonderful summer, we're reflecting on the many memorable moments shared across our Aurem Care homes.

From trips to the zoo and Godstone Farm, falconry and Zoolab visits, Boxercise sessions and creative arts activities, to immersive cinema experiences and themed celebrations, our residents have enjoyed a season filled with fun, friendship and new experiences.

We've celebrated National Cream Tea Week, National Picnic Month, Elephant Day and even enjoyed a taste of Italy with themed events. Intergenerational activities with local nursery children strengthened community connections, while garden parties and music events brought residents, families and colleagues together.

There have also been some special milestones along the way, including surprise birthday celebrations and recognising long-serving colleagues for their dedication and commitment.

A huge thank you to our fantastic teams, who continue to create meaningful opportunities that support wellbeing, encourage engagement and make every day special for those living in our homes. 💙

Here's to a summer full of smiles, memories and moments that matter, and to an exciting autumn ahead. 🍁

🎉 There’s been no shortage of celebrations across Aurem Care recently! 🎉

From a wonderful Garden Party at The Red House, to a fantastic 60s, 70s & 80s Party at The Oaks Care Home, a fun-filled Summer Fair at Kilburn Care Home, and a special Residents & Families Afternoon at Aaron House Care Home, Penicuik, our homes have been bringing people together to create lasting memories.

The celebrations continue this weekend with the Lostock Lodge Summer Fair on Saturday 22nd August. We look forward to welcoming residents, families and members of the local community for an afternoon of fun and entertainment.

🍅🍓 Enjoying the Fruits of His Labour at Kilburn Care Home 🌱

A passion for gardening has brought plenty of rewards for resident Stanley at Kilburn Care Home in Belper. With support from the team, Stanley has spent time tending the garden and recently enjoyed a fantastic harvest of tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers and salad vegetables.

Not only has the homegrown produce been enjoyed by residents, but the gardening project has also provided a wonderful sense of purpose, achievement and wellbeing. The team looks forward to continuing to involve Stanley and other residents in future planting and harvesting projects throughout the seasons.

Home Manager Kat Townsend said it has been fantastic to see Stanley's confidence and enjoyment grow alongside the fruit and vegetables. Stanley simply commented :"I love gardening. It was lovely to see everything we had grown and to enjoy the fresh produce."

Celebrating Dedication Across Aurem Care ⭐️

At Aurem Care, we know that the heart of exceptional care lies in the dedication of our people.

We are delighted to celebrate Stephen, Head Chef at Glebe House Care Home, who has reached an incredible 10 years of service. Over the past decade, Stephen has played a vital role in enriching the lives of residents through nutritious, home-cooked meals and an unwavering commitment to quality and care.

To mark this milestone, Stephen was presented with a long service award by our Group Operations Director, Kirsty Henshaw, in recognition of his loyalty, hard work and contribution to the Glebe House community.

Long-serving colleagues like Stephen help create the continuity, warmth and sense of family that make our homes so special. Thank you, Stephen, for everything you do and for your decade of dedication to residents, families and colleagues alike.

☀️ It's been a fantastic summer so far across Aurem Care! ☀️

From Disney Day at Buxton Lodge and live music with Kate Bassett at Glebe House, to a heartfelt baby shower celebration at Hillcrest, our residents have been enjoying a wonderful variety of activities and events.

We've also welcomed live entertainment at Kenwood, enjoyed games, bingo and dominoes at Kilburn, hosted a popular Dementia Café at Lostock Lodge, taken to the roads on a trishaw cycling outing at South Haven Lodge, celebrated Employee of the Month at The Oaks and Westbank, and marked World Chocolate Day at The Red House.

Creating meaningful moments, bringing people together and having fun are at the heart of life in our homes. 💜

🐾 A Pawsitively Wonderful Day at Aaron House Care Home, Penicuik Dog Show! 🐾

Aaron House recently hosted their very own Care Home Dog Show, bringing together residents, families and team members for a truly special day.

The four-legged guests stole the show as residents took on the important role of judges, enjoying the opportunity to meet and interact with each dog. Every canine participant was impeccably behaved and received a certificate and a bag of treats in recognition of their efforts.

The event created countless moments of joy, laughter and connection, highlighting the positive impact that animals can have on wellbeing and social engagement.

A huge thank you to everyone who brought along their dogs and helped make the day such a memorable success. 🐶💜

🎶✌️ Peace, love and plenty of smiles at Buxton Lodge Care Home, Caterham✌️🎶
Our residents recently stepped back into the swinging sixties for a day filled with music, creativity and great company.

The celebrations included a colourful tie-dye workshop where residents created their own pillowcases, a fantastic 60s-themed live show packed with classic hits, and a delicious summer BBQ enjoyed by everyone. One resident said, "I can't get the songs out of my head. The food was amazing!"

Times like these are wonderful opportunities to reminisce, get creative and make new memories together.
