✨️ Neurodiversity Celebration Week encourages us all to learn more about neurological differences so we can foster understanding and build cultures in which everyone can thrive.

Neurodivergent members of our community bring unique strengths, talents, and problem solving approaches that enrich both the practice and education of radiography.

This week, we invite all SoR members to reflect on and celebrate neurodiversity, as well as challenge stereotypes or assumptions that may exist.

It's been 3 years since I moved from one campus site to another within the same NHS Trust.

My greatest pleasure has been welcoming new students and staff as I season them with a little "auntie" flavour.

Let me tell you a little story...

Last week, my junior colleague (pictured) xrayed a patient who then came back for something else.

He said - "Oh! I saw you earlier! They have sent me back for more!"

Me: "Sir, I've never seen you before in my whole life!" 😁

Pt: "Oh! But you are so beautiful, lovely complexion, lovely smile - I'm sure it was you..."

Me checking the system: "No sir, that was my younger colleague working in a different room down the corridor ..."

Pt: "Are you sure? Well, you are both lovely then, beautiful complexion yadda, yadda, yadda.."

Me: "Sir, she's in her 20s but I will convey your compliments to her... and thank you for mine!"
