End of Year Update for the Dystonia IMPACT Qualitative Study!
We are really excited to share that since opening we have managed to recruit 25 parent/carers and 15 children and young people, meaning we are half way to our target of 80 total participants.
We are still going to be recruiting to the study into the New Year and we really want to make sure we are also reaching groups who are typically underrepresented in children’s health research. As such, we are particularly looking to hear from fathers, and families with children with genetic and idiopathic diagnoses living anywhere in the UK. We are also recruiting both children who can communicate verbally, and also children who communicate non-verbally whereby we are supporting their participation through the use of creative methods and augmentive and alternative communication tools and devices including eye gaze, switches, and photos.
