There comes a moment in your life when your body simply can’t carry the weight anymore. The tears come, the exhaustion takes over, and all the strength you’ve worn for years begins to crumble. And in that moment, instead of judging yourself, what if you allowed yourself to simply be?
It’s okay to fall apart.
It’s okay to be a mess.
It’s okay to stay in bed for a while, to cancel plans, to rest without guilt and to stop pretending you’re okay when you’re not. It’s okay to take time away from the noise of the world. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to lean into a nourishing hug and allow yourself to be held. You don’t have to carry everything on your own.
Many of us learnt that love had to be earned by being the strong one. We became the fixer, the caretaker, the peacemaker, the one who held everyone else together while quietly falling apart inside. We believed that needing someone was weakness and that resting meant we were failing.
But your body knows the truth.
Your body doesn’t need you to be stronger.
It needs you to feel safe.
Safe enough to cry without apologising.
Safe enough to rest without feeling guilty.
Safe enough to say, “I’m not okay today.”
Safe enough to receive love without believing you have to deserve it first.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone who never struggles. It’s about giving yourself permission to stop surviving and start receiving the love, care and tenderness your heart has always longed for.
You don’t have to earn your worth through exhaustion.
You don’t have to prove your strength by carrying the world on your shoulders.
Today, let yourself soften.
Let yourself be held.
Let yourself receive.
Because sometimes the bravest thing you’ll ever do is stop fighting and allow yourself to be loved.
