5 things I’ve learned in the last 5 years as a sports therapist:
1️⃣ Every body is different -there’s never a “one size fits all” treatment.
2️⃣ Small restrictions can create big problems if left untreated.
3️⃣ Recovery and maintenance are just as important as training (this has really been the case with my own marathon training!!)
4️⃣ Listening to your client’s body is just as important as listening to their words.
5️⃣ Helping someone move without pain is one of the most rewarding parts of this job.

Grateful for every person who has trusted me with their recovery over the years.

A little snippet from today’s session 🐎

This horse was showing some restriction through their movement, so today’s treatment focused on releasing tension and helping restore better balance through the body.

It’s always amazing to see how quickly horses respond when the right areas are addressed.

Every horse deserves to feel comfortable in their body, whether they’re competing, hacking, or simply enjoying life in the field.

💛 I’m running the London Marathon 2026 for two causes very close to my heart.

This year I’m fundraising for NSPCC to help raise awareness and support around Munchausen by Proxy (also known as Fabricated or Induced Illness) - a rare but serious form of child abuse where a caregiver deliberately fabricates or induces illness in a child, often leading to unnecessary medical procedures, hospital stays, and, in some tragic cases, death. In studies of these severe medical abuse cases, a proportion of children suffered severe illness and some died as a result - with mortality rates in published research indicating around 6–10% of victims may die because of the abuse.

This form of abuse is rare - estimated at about 1 cases per 100,000 children under 16 in the UK, and up to 3 per 100,000 in children under 1 - but each case represents a child harmed, confused, and put at risk when they should be safe.

At the same time, I’m also fundraising for Mind to support men’s mental health - another area where help, awareness, and open conversation can make a huge difference. I’ve seen how depression affects someone I love, and I want to help break the stigma that stops so many men from asking for support.

I’ll be running 26.2 miles not just for the challenge, but for children harmed by rare abuse, and for men who are struggling in silence. If you can donate, share, or simply talk about these issues with the people around you, it would mean the world to me 💙
Every mile will count.
Thank you. 🙏

This week I had the absolute pleasure of guest lecturing at Plumpton College, speaking with students about veterinary physiotherapy and the role it plays in animal rehabilitation.

It was genuinely lovely to meet such enthusiastic and engaged students, and I really enjoyed sharing my experience as an animal physiotherapist and founder of Loicia Rehab Specialist.

A huge thank you to Will Hughes for the warm welcome and for showing me around the college’s impressive rehabilitation facilities. The state-of-the-art canine hydrotherapy centre, including the pool and aqua treadmill, is truly exceptional and a fantastic resource for students and future professionals.

I had an amazing time and looking forward to planning more visits in the future!

Thank you again for such a memorable visit and a lovely bottle of wine!

🌟NOMINATE NOW - VET PRACTICE OF THE YEAR🌟

Great veterinary care comes in all shapes and sizes. From busy practices to small teams and even one-person practices, there are vets doing incredible work every single day, often quietly, without much recognition.

This award is about celebrating those people and teams. The ones who go the extra mile for their patients, who support owners through the hard moments, and who care deeply about the animals and communities they serve.

If you know a vet practice — big or small — who deserves a recognition, this is your chance to nominate them. Whether you’re a client, a colleague, or someone who’s seen first-hand the difference they make, your nomination matters.

Self-Nominations are also welcome and it is free to self-nominate. Feel free to share this image below or email [email protected] for a pdf poster complete with QR Code to nominate. Perfect for emails, invoices or on display in your practice.
