You’ve seen the stories. This is the report.
We paddled 300 km of the Pelly river — Faro to Pelly Crossing — to find out whether it’s a river we’d ever bring people to.
Weeks of rain before we arrived left it in flood and swollen: no camps but gravel bars, no rapids the water hadn’t buried, and a stillness you could count — six animals in 300 km.
The weather was perfect, bar one night. The river still made its own rules.
