Therapists go on holiday. Clients go on holiday. And that’s okay. 🤍⛵️😎
Breaks are a normal part of life, and they can be a healthy part of the therapeutic process too.
If your therapist is taking some time away, you might notice different feelings arise—perhaps relief, disappointment, anxiety, or even a mixture of them all. Whatever comes up, there is room for it.
A pause in therapy doesn’t mean the work stops. The therapeutic relationship doesn’t disappear during a holiday. It continues to live in what you’ve learned, the insights you’ve gained, and the ways you’ve learned to care for yourself.🥰
Holidays also give us something precious: the chance to rest, reconnect, and simply live. To laugh a little more, sleep a little longer, enjoy good company, or do absolutely nothing. If therapy has helped you create more space for joy, self-compassion, or connection, this is a beautiful time to notice it. Celebrate your progress. Trust the resources you’ve built. Enjoy the life you’re working so hard to create.
Therapists need that too. Rest helps us return with renewed energy, fresh perspective, and the presence that good therapy asks of us.
While I’m away, if something genuinely urgent comes up, you’re welcome to send me an email. I may not be able to reply immediately, but I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. If you’re experiencing a mental health crisis or you’re concerned about your immediate safety, please contact your local emergency services or crisis support service without delay.
Wishing you a summer filled with rest, play, laughter, and moments that remind you why your wellbeing matters. I look forward to hearing your stories when we’re back together. 😎
