C & J ‘ S A N I M A L P A R K

A little less well known probably, but a hidden Jem for animal loving children. C&J's Animal Park near Portadown is a mini zoo with animals such as a crocodile, lemurs, silver foxes and wallabies as well as lots of farm animals and birds. The paths are all flat and gravel, which is accessible but a bit hard to push a pram/wheelchair around. They do have ramps into the shop, toilets and reptiles house making it easy to get in and out. The highlight was getting hands on experience with lots of the animals. The staff were great at getting the reptiles and smalls pets out for us to hold. We got lots of time with each animals they chatted to us about where they got them and how old they were. I was also pleased they recognised and made sure our youngest got to also hold and touch lots of the animals in his own time. We had a lovely morning there and will definitely be back again.

Two great sessions today and it only really rained while we were doing the story and songs at the end during both. Thank you all for braving the wind and potential rain to join us. We are loving meeting so many new people and getting to have regulars too. Thank you for supporting my small business!

F L O W E R F I E L D

A beautiful morning yesterday at Millbank Farm flower field. Enjoying cutting some wildflowers and sunflowers to bring home in a jar. There are lots of lovely photo opportunities and paths through the flower fields. It is on a very steep hill so I am glad I opted to bring the Out and About instead of the Snappi pram because I definitely wouldn’t have been able to get it up the hill. So I would say it’s not very accessible for those is wheelchairs. It was still a great activity to do and we also enjoyed the sand pit and flower wrapping station at the bottom. There are toilets at the field and public disabled toilets (with a radar key lock) in the car park just a little walk from the field.

A wonderful morning with The Gaitway Organisation visiting Nature Tots for a forest school session. We released more moths from the moth trap, had the sensory play trays and then two guided activities. Planting a seed to bring home and then hammered flower art which turned out great!

One of my goals with Nature Tots is to make it a fully accessible forest school including wheelchair accessible. Our youngest son uses an accessible pram/chair and we know so many places are tricky to get around. When starting Nature Tots at our house, it has alway been the plan to have SEN and wheelchair accessible sessions but all children are welcome at any sessions. If your child would like to attend a session give me a message and we will make it work. Nature Tots provides forest school sessions for all.

Another lovely moth themed morning. Making and exploring moths as well as lots of climbing, tractors, play dough and making in the mud kitchen.

We have officially opened at our new location near Moira. What a great first day we had with over 30 children over two sessions. Thank you so much to everyone who visited today, a great way to start off this new chapter of my small business.
