Filler has a bit of an image problem. And most of it comes down to the same tired misinformation that's been doing the rounds for years.

The results that put people off are the ones that went wrong. The good work, you've walked past a hundred times and never once noticed. That's how it's meant to be.

When it's placed well, in the right amount, for the right face, there's nothing to spot. You just look like you on a really good day. A bit more rested, a bit more like you did a few years ago, without anyone quite being able to say why.

So if you've been curious but talked yourself out of it, this one's for you 👉🏼

A consultation is never a commitment. And I'll always tell you straight whether filler is the right call for where you are right now, or whether something else would serve you better. Book via the link in my bio or send me a message, and let's have a proper conversation 🤍

Skin booster or filler? These two treatments get muddled constantly, so let’s clear it up once and for all!

They’re mentioned in the same breath so often that people assume they do a similar job, when really they couldn’t be more different, and understanding that difference is the key to getting the result you’re actually after.

The simplest way to think about it is this.

Filler is about shape and structure. It restores volume where it’s been lost, rebuilding a cheek, a lip or a jawline to give definition and support. A skin booster, on the other hand, does something else entirely. It isn’t there to change your shape at all, it’s injected to deeply hydrate the skin from within and stimulate your own collagen, so over a few weeks your skin looks plumper, fresher and healthier.

So here’s the test...

If your concern is looking flat, hollow or tired, that points to filler. If your skin looks dull, crepey or dehydrated and you’re chasing a glow, that’s a skin booster. And more often than not, the best results come from a little of both, restoring the structure while genuinely improving the skin itself.

There are a few things I wish more people knew before they started spending money on treatments that weren't going to give them what they were actually looking for.

After years in clinic, the conversations I have most often aren't about which treatment to choose. They're about helping people understand why what they've tried before hasn't worked, and what's genuinely going on beneath the surface. Hopefully, this will save a lot of people a lot of confusion 👉🏼

The truth is, skincare and filler are brilliant tools when they're used in the right context, but they both have real limits that don't always get talked about honestly. And those limits matter, because when you understand them, you stop chasing the wrong thing and start getting results that actually feel like you.

The options available now are very exciting, and for the right patient, treatments like Julaine, Rejuran, and polynucleotides can do things that simply weren't possible a few years ago. But it all starts with understanding what your skin actually needs rather than just reaching for what's most familiar 🤍

If any of this resonates with something you've been noticing, or if you've had treatments before that haven't quite landed the way you hoped, I'd love to have a proper conversation about it.

We spend more time choosing a restaurant than some people spend choosing who injects their face, and that really needs to change!

The aesthetics industry remains worryingly underregulated, which means the responsibility to choose well falls largely on you. The good news is that the signs of a safe, skilled practitioner are actually fairly easy to spot once you know what you’re looking for. Knowing them could genuinely save you from a result gone wrong, or worse.

The real green flags come down to a few things.

✨️ Proper medical training and a thorough consultation rather than a rushed chat.
✨️ A willingness to talk you out of treatment, because anyone who says yes to everything is thinking about their diary rather than your face.
✨️ An assessment of your whole face rather than just the area you walked in worried about, because balance is everything.
✨️ The training and equipment to manage complications if something goes wrong, which is completely non-negotiable.
✨️ And absolutely no pressure to decide there and then.

A good practitioner wants you to ask questions, take your time, and feel heard before any treatment happens 🤍

Most people have heard of Profhilo. Fewer people know about Profhilo Structura, and for the right patient, it genuinely fills a gap that nothing else quite covers.

The difference comes down to this: original Profhilo is one of the best skin quality treatments available, and I use it regularly. But it doesn't firm, lift or restore volume. That’s where Structura comes in.

It sits in a specific layer of the tissue where it can provide what I'd describe as soft structural support, improving skin quality at the same time as adding a degree of firmness that the original simply can't offer 🤍

If you’re curious about Structura or want to understand what may be right for your concerns, DM me 'STRUCTURA' and I'll send you more information, or tap the link in my bio to book a consultation 💌

A lip flip and lip filler are two completely different treatments, yet people book the wrong one all the time 💉

They sound similar and they’re often talked about interchangeably, but they do very different things, and understanding the difference is the key to getting the result you actually want.

The simplest way to think about it is this: one uses a tiny amount of anti-wrinkle injection to gently relax the muscle so more of your existing lip shows, with no volume added at all. It’s subtle, temporary, and lovely if your top lip vanishes when you smile or you’re conscious of a gummy smile. The other adds actual volume and structure, changing the shape, balance and fullness of the lips, and lasting considerably longer.

So it comes down to what you’re after. Want your own lips to simply show a little more? That’s a flip. Want to change the shape or add fullness? That’s filler. And with a dental background, I’ll always look at your whole smile first, because your lips should complement your teeth too.

If you’re not sure which one is right for you, message ‘LIPS’ and I’ll help you work it out, or head to the link in our bio to book a consultation 💌

Upper lip lines are one of the concerns I get asked about most, and also one of the areas where I see the most confusion about what will actually help.

The upper lip is also one of the most mobile parts of the face, which makes it genuinely one of the more technically demanding areas to treat well. Getting it wrong is very visible, which is why my approach here is always careful, considered, and built around what each individual patient actually needs rather than a blanket protocol.

For most people, the answer involves improving the quality of the skin itself first, using polynucleotides or Rejuran to build thickness and resilience from within.

From there, very conservative anti-wrinkle treatment and, where appropriate, precise filler along the lip border can make a real difference to how the lines appear and how quickly new ones form.

Let’s walk through all of it properly, so if it's something you've been thinking about, have a read 👉🏼

Five things I think every patient deserves to hear before booking in 👆🏽

The truth is, the more you understand about what a treatment can and can't do, the better the outcome tends to be. You walk in with realistic expectations, you ask better questions, and you're far less likely to leave feeling disappointed with the outcome.

If any of this resonates with something you've been wondering about, or if you're considering treatments but don't know where to start, send me a message. I'm always happy to help 🤍

Something I'm seeing a lot more of in clinic right now is patients who've lost weight, feel genuinely well and energised, and then look in the mirror and feel like their face doesn't reflect that at all.

It's one of the most common conversations I'm having, and it makes complete sense when you understand what's happening structurally. Rapid weight loss, particularly with GLP-1 medications, means the face loses volume faster than the skin has time to adapt.

The result is hollowing, sagging, and a heaviness around the jaw that can make someone look significantly older almost overnight. None of that is a reflection of how well you've looked after yourself. It's a structural consequence, and it's entirely treatable 🤍

Let’s walk through exactly how I'd approach it if I were in this position myself 👉🏼

If you've been noticing these changes and aren't sure where to start, I'd love to help you put a plan together. Book a consultation via the link in my bio, or send me a message and we can go from there.
