Do you know the 50p rule? If your child has a burn bigger than this you need to get medical advice right away.

Babies, toddlers and preschoolers have delicate skin that burns easily. Knowing what to do if your child suffers a burn can mean the difference between lifelong scarring and a child who heals well.

Remember COOL, CALL, COVER

COOL the burn for at least 20 minutes with cool (not cold) running water
CALL for help for any burn bigger than a 50p coin.
COVER the burn loosely with cling film or a clean, non-fluffy dressing or cloth.

🤘 BIG NEWS! We're teaming up with global rock legends Metallica and their charity All Within My Hands Foundation to help save lives this summer.

UK blood services in England, Scotland and Wales are joining forces with Metallica to get music fans rolling up their sleeves. Metal runs through every Metallica fan's veins, and so does blood that could save up to three lives with every donation.

Metallica are calling on their fans to become regular blood donors around their UK tour dates. They're in London on 3 and 5 July.

Metallica have already seen the life-saving difference this campaign can make in the US and Australia - now it's the UK's turn.

We'll be sharing more information soon, so watch this space! 🤘🩸

Frimley Health has launched a new 'Patient Information Library' on our website in the patients and visitors section bringing patient information together in one central place. It has been designed to make health information easier to find, access and share.

Patient information plays an important role in helping people understand their care, treatment and choices and the new patient information library allows patients and carers to access information online and use the accessibility tools available on the trust website. This means patients and carers can view information in a way that better meets their individual communication needs.

These tools can support people to:

- translate information into different languages
- increase or reduce text size
- change colour contrast
- use dyslexia-friendly font settings
- access information in a more flexible way
- use read aloud technology

The aim is to support patients and carers before, during and after their care, while also helping staff to share clear, consistent and up-to-date information.

Special thanks the teams who made this possible and to Frimley Health Charity for supporting the project and sharing the vision for continuous improvement in patient care.

It's been a very busy week for our 999 team on the road and in our control rooms due to the heat wave, including receiving the highest level of 999 calls since 26 August last year.

As always, we prioritise the most seriously ill or injured patients first. This means it may take us longer than our target of 2-3 hours to get to patients calling with less serious emergencies.

We have also seen a rise in people calling us back on 999 to check on how quickly we'll arrive - please don't do this. Only call us back on 999 if there are any changes in the patient's condition or you no longer need an ambulance (for example, you can make your own way to a hospital or treatment centre).
