It was a superb, sunshiny afternoon, full of smiles, at the Lonsdale Summer Fete! 🌸🎶

We welcomed our wonderful local community to join us for a fabulous afternoon in our beautiful gardens. With great company, shopping, music, ice-creams from Mrs Sprinkles and, of course, plenty of delicious treats, it was an afternoon well spent! 😋

We were entertained with live music in the garden by Mark Hopkinson and Charlotte Emily Beaver, who had everyone singing along to much-loved favourites, with some even getting up for a little dance to some good old disco memories too! 💃🕺🎶

Head Chef Lucy wowed everyone with a ‘Taste of Lonsdale’, serving homemade taster pots featuring some of our favourites, alongside a few new tastes to try. Our recycle and re-use theme also showed how we can give everyday things a second life — from coffee granules for the compost to lavender from our gardens turned into beautiful lavender bags. 🌿

Our Knit & Natter stall was full of wonderful creations made by our residents, with proceeds going towards our annual fundraiser for the Stroke Association: https://www.justgiving.com/page/teamlonsdalewalksnowdon 💜

A huge well done to the Lonsdale team for another brilliant Lonsdale-style event, creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our residents and showing our local community ‘what we do’ so well! ❤️

A Saturday afternoon sing-song with Chris the Piano Man always goes down well ! 🎹🎶

Not only does Chris amaze us with his incredible piano playing, but he also gets everyone involved and having fun. This week, he put our knowledge to the test with ‘Name the Movie’, playing some famous film themes, with a little charades thrown in too! 🎬 From Jaws and Love Story to The Godfather, we had the names on the tip of our tongues and had plenty of laughs too 🤔😀

The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon—great music, great company, and, of course, a relaxing drink with friends in our café afterwards 💜

Lonsdale goes golf crazy!

We love a challenge, especially one that gets the creativity flowing! ⛳️

We all have happy memories of crazy golf, which made our recent craft sessions exciting and full of chat, as we got designing and building our very own mini golf course ready for the big tournament.

Thanks to our fabulous Lifestyle Team, each of our four suites went head-to-head to create the most imaginative holes, featuring everything from a castle, the Titanic and iceberg, a bee, igloo, tunnel and beach, to a windmill, football goal, teepee, totem pole and even a music corner where Elvis was waiting to greet everyone (some had a kiss)! 🎸🎤

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition and a few tricky putts along the way, with residents stopping to hook a duck, celebrating every hole in one (or two... or three 😉) – and ringing the finishing bell!

Congratulations to our crazy golf champion, who was delighted to receive the winning trophy! 🏆⛳️

Sunny Saturday morning singing along with Sam in the Lonsdale gardens with our friends – what could be better? 🥰

We had a wonderful surprise at the weekend, when some of the talented cast from NQSC, Quorn's amateur dramatics group, treated us to a performance of songs from their recent show, A Little of What You Fancy....! 🎭

The biggest surprise of all? Our very own Sally from the Lifestyle Team was one of the stars of the show! 🤩 As a group member, everyone was delighted to see her perform in their fabulous costumes, as they got us all joining in with a good old sing-song with classics including Daisy, Daisy, Any Old Iron and Down at the Old Bull and Bush 🎶

There was plenty of toe-tapping, clapping, laughter and singing along – we really do all love a good chorus and a bit of theatrical magic! 🎶✨

Thank you, Sally, Cathy, Daniel, Rosemary and Teresa, for such a memorable afternoon - music really does bring people together and re-live good memories 🎭 💜
