3 very sleepy girls this evening after spending the day with my final year Warwickshire College and University Centre Vet Physio Students. They where each given a very thorough assessment and treatment and I can say Ruby is definitely jumping on and off the sofa better tonight following her laser and PEMFT treatments.

Ruby is 11 years young today (60 in little dog years). Even though she has a few more grey hairs she is just as sprightly and cheeky as ever. Hopefully we have many more years together.

Lexie has start the 2023 show season off well. We have had a very busy weekend with the Dachshund Club open show on Saturday where Lexie was placed 2nd out of 8 in Novice Bitch and 3rd out of 6 in Post Graduate Bitch. We continued our winning streak with a 3rd in Post Graduate Bitch at CHELTENHAM & DISTRICT CANINE Society open show on Sunday.

Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to the judges and members of both societies for hosting these fabulous shows.

It’s not just dachshunds that I treat! This handsome chap is Brian who I have been seeing for almost a year. Brian’s owner initially contacted me because of a hindlimb lameness which has resolved but he now has regular physio and hydrotherapy treatments so that he stays in top condition.

This little lady was a superstar today at the miniature dachshund club championship show. She may not have one any prizes (she was up against 15 other dogs) but it was only her second show and she is looking much more relaxed in the ring. Fingers crossed for next week 🤞🏻

There are many changes which I would like to see in the canine, veterinary and vet physio industries but also many other areas which impact our lives on a daily basis.

For me I would love to see:
* Regulation within the veterinary physiotherapy industry
* Improved communication between the different vet physio stakeholder groups
* Ensure that all vet physio courses offer students the same high level of education.

What changes would you like to see within the vet physio, canine and equine industries? Who knows you might just be a change maker too ✨👏🏻

Meet Lily 💖🐾

Lily started physiotherapy with me 3 weeks ago after she had surgery to remove a slipped disk which was preventing her from using her back legs.

At only 4 weeks post surgery Lily is making amazing progress in fact the difficulty now is keeping her still! Lily is the smallest and possibly the cheekiest sausage I have had the pleasure of meeting As you can see she is very well practiced in the dachshund side eye.

Rehabilitation from spinal injuries takes a whole team of people requiring collaboration between the usual vets, the referral vet who perform surgery, the physiotherapist and Lily is also starting hydrotherapy next week 💦. Team work makes the dream work.
