​We’ve had another wonderful week filled with smiles, laughter, and great conversation here at Kirkley Manor! 🌟

​Reminiscence & "What's in the Bag?": We took a trip down memory lane this week! Everyone loved exploring our mystery bag and sharing stories about classic everyday items, sparkled by a great group chat about everything you’d find in a traditional kitchen. 🍳☕
​Hook the Fish! Our fishing game brought out plenty of friendly competition and impressive focus—lots of laughs and great catches all around! 🎣🐟
​Ball Games: We kept up the energy with lively group ball games that had everyone moving, chatting, and having a brilliant time together. 🎈✨

🌞 Out & About with Kirkley Manor! 🌿🚗
​Our residents have had the absolute best time soaking up the summer weather with a couple of wonderful trips out recently!
​First, we took a lovely excursion over to Beccles Quay, where we enjoyed peaceful views along the river, watched the boats pass by, and took in the gorgeous fresh air. 🚤✨
​We also spent a fantastic afternoon exploring Carlton Marshes. The wildlife and scenic green tracks made for a truly restorative outing—there’s nothing quite like connecting with nature and enjoying a change of scenery together! 🌾🦆

🌿💜 A Proud Milestone for Kirkley Manor

We're delighted to share that Kirkley Manor has become the first care home in Lowestoft to receive End-of-Life Care Accreditation from St Elizabeth Hospice.

The accreditation recognises the home's unwavering commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care and was presented during a special ceremony in Kirkley Manor's Memory Garden.

This achievement reflects months of dedication, learning, and collaboration between the Kirkley Manor team, St Elizabeth Hospice, and Kingsley Healthcare's Learning & Development team. Together, they have strengthened their expertise in personalised end-of-life care, communication, and emotional support, ensuring residents and their families receive the highest standard of care when it matters most.

A special congratulations goes to Deputy Manager Ashly Joseph, whose determination and leadership helped guide the team throughout the accreditation process, and to every member of staff whose compassion and commitment made this achievement possible.

Home Manager Sarah Blackburn said:
"I am very proud of the staff for their achievement. This accreditation reflects our deep commitment to ensuring that every resident receives the highest standard of care, respect and compassion at the end of their life."

🌟 Busy Hands & Happy Hearts at Kirkley Manor! 🌟
​What a fantastic, action-packed week we’ve had here at Kirkley Manor Care Home!
​We kicked things off getting everyone up and grooving with our popular Movement to Music sessions—there’s nothing quite like a bit of music to get the energy going and smiles all around! 🎶🕺💃
​Later in the week, the competitive spirit came out for our Horse Racing Dice Game! 🐎🎲 It was a nail-biter right to the finish line, but huge congratulations go to our top jockeys:
​🏆 1st Place: The lovely Shirley on Horse #1!
​🥈 2nd Place: Belinda holding it down on Horse #2!
​🥉 3rd Place: Moreen taking the podium on Horse #4!
​We also tapped into our creative side by making exquisite decoupage miniature knick-knack trays decorated with gorgeous floral designs. They turned out absolutely beautifully! 🌸🎨
​To wrap up such a brilliant week, we took advantage of the lovely weather and enjoyed some delicious tea and snacks in the garden together. ☀️☕️🍰

We have had such a wonderfully full and busy week here at Kirkley Manor Care Home! 🥰
​The highlight for many of our residents was definitely being entertained by the fantastic Cane the Bar! 🎤🎶 The lounge was filled with music, smiles, and plenty of singing along—the residents absolutely loved it!
​We also took advantage of the beautiful weather with some lovely afternoons of tea and games in the garden, enjoying the fresh air and great company. ☀️☕️♟️
​To top it all off, we kept our minds sharp with some brilliant brain games, including puzzles and word searches to get everyone thinking and chatting. 🧠🧩📝

🇫🇷 Bon voyage! Yesterday, the residents at Kirkley Manor Care Home took a trip to France for Bastille Day! ✈️🥖
​Through the magic of armchair travel, we swept across the English Channel to explore the romantic streets of Paris, the historic port of Marseilles, and the sun-drenched shores of the French Riviera.
​🍽️ A Feast Fit for Royalty
Our incredible kitchen team pulled out all the stops, serving up a spectacular French-inspired lunch that had everyone saying "Magnifique!" A massive thank you to our wonderful chefs for putting together such a delicious menu!
​🧠 Afternoon in l'Hexagone
The fun didn't stop at lunch! We spent the afternoon testing our wits with French trivia and enjoying some fantastic themed activities that brought laughs, stories, and a bit of friendly competition to the lounge.
​It was a beautiful day of culture, cuisine, and celebration. Merci to everyone who made it so special!

​We’ve had an absolutely action-packed time here at Kirkley Manor Care Home, and our residents have been letting their talents shine! 🌟
​Here’s a little look at what we've been up to:
​Getting Crafty: We channeled our inner artists and got stuck into a wonderful pottery session, sculpting these beautiful clay roses! We also tried our hand at weaving, creating some fantastic, colorful designs. 🧵
​Wimbledon Fever: With the tennis on, we couldn't resist getting active with a high-stakes game of balloon tennis! Honestly, looking at some of our volleys, we reckon we’re almost as good as the players currently competing at Wimbledon! Watch out, Center Court! 🎈🏆

​We have been non-stop over the past few days, and our residents have been making the absolute most of the beautiful weather and some fantastic activities!
​Here’s a little peek at what we’ve been up to:
​A Sweet Treat: We all cheered when the ice cream van pulled up! There’s nothing quite like a cold cone on a sunny afternoon. 🍦
​Al Fresco Dining: We took advantage of the sunshine and enjoyed a gorgeous lunch out in the garden together. Lovely food, great company, and fresh air! 🌸🍽️
​Staying Active: We kept our bodies moving and our spirits high with a fantastic yoga and movement-to-music session. 🧘‍♂️🎶
​Fun & Games: The competitive sparks were flying with some lively games of skittles and other ball games! 🎳⚽
