Lilac Lodge Care Home Lilac Lodge & Lavender Cottage are sister homes located in the same road in the village of Oulton Broad.

These homes offer person-centred residential and dementia care, with respite care also offered subject to availability.

Today we had the very special privilege of being able to be a part of Ron and Jill Hayward's 60th wedding anniversary celebrations.

60 wonderful years together, and still as in love now, as they were in 1966.

She has enjoyed spending the day with her family and returned home to this beautiful cake, made by Becky.

I think Becky may have seen enough cake to last the rest of the year today, but Karina was thrilled with it. 🧁🍰

Remembering Dolly ❤️✨

Today, we say a heartfelt goodbye to the wonderful Dolly Parton, who has sadly passed away at the age of 80.

For so many of us, Dolly was much more than a country music legend. Her voice, her songs and her unmistakable personality have been part of our lives for generations.

Here at Lilac Lodge, Dolly's music has a very special place in the hearts of many of our residents. 🎶💜

For those living with dementia, music can be a powerful connection to memories, emotions and moments from the past. A familiar Dolly song can bring a smile to someone's face, encourage a singalong, or simply provide a feeling of comfort and familiarity. Songs such as Jolene, 9 to 5, Coat of Many Colors and I Will Always Love You have created memories that will stay with us.

Dolly had a wonderful gift for bringing people together through music. Her warmth, humour, kindness and incredible talent touched generations, and her songs will continue to fill rooms with laughter, singing and treasured memories. ❤️

So today, from all of us at Lilac Lodge, we remember Dolly with gratitude.

Thank you for the music, Dolly.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for all the joy.

Your songs will continue to play, and every time we hear that familiar voice, we will think of you. 🌸🎶

Rest peacefully, Dolly.
