🚨🚨🚨 I'm looking for 3 high-achieving women who want to heal their relationship with themself. πŸ€—

If this sounds like you or someone you know send me a message.

Not sure if this is you or not?

Here's what it looks like...

πŸ‘‰ You've achieved a lot but put it down to luck or chance and it never feels enough
πŸ‘‰ You beat yourself up over everything
πŸ‘‰ You agree to doing things you don't want to do because it's easier than dealing with the consequences of saying No!
πŸ‘‰ You stay awake ruminating over the the conversation you had last week and hope you weren't too much
πŸ‘‰ No matter how many exams you pass or certificates you gain you still don't feel it's enough
πŸ‘‰The voice in your head gives you a hard time and is unsupportive and lacks compassion
πŸ‘‰ You avoid thinking about how you feel and eat/drink to distract yourself
πŸ‘‰ You think everyone else has it all together and you feel like a fraud
πŸ‘‰ You've read the self-help books and had the counselling and feel like there's no hope left for you

If any of these sound familiar, I'd love to hear from you.

"She loves herself"

As a teenager, the worst thing you could possibly do when I was growing up was "love" yourself.

It meant you had elevated ideas of who you were
It meant you thought you were better than everybody else
It meant you had an air of confidence about you that other people found uncomfortable or too much.

The safest way to be was anything but that.

The message we took away?
Hate yourself, it's the only way to survive.

So if your default is to put yourself down, criticise yourself or reject complements.
If you constantly compare yourself to others and downplay your success' or pass them off as luck or nothing special.
If you think loving yourself is not safe and something you should avoid.

I'm here to tell you they got it wrong.

Loving yourself is necessary.

No one can do it for you.

You have to be your own best friend.
Your own cheer-leader.

Loving yourself is about self-reliance, self-acceptance, self-trust, self-respect, self-belief, self-worth, self-esteem = self-love.

The kind that allows you to be yourself without apology.
The kind that allows you to enjoy all your imperfections without judgment.
The kind that is compassionate and gives grace.
The kind that does not seek the approval of others to approve of yourself.

If you needed to hear this today, I see you.

Real talk.

I have all the tools.

I'm a coach and hypnotherapist. I know what to do when things feel like too much. I teach this stuff.

And this month? I've still had moments where I've felt completely overwhelmed.

May was full β€” we lost my dad in January and time has felt both precious and relentless ever since. Add in birthdays, bank holidays, half terms, sports days and two small children who need me β€” and the business I love got squeezed into the gaps.

There were moments this month where my brain was full of "shoulds."

I should be posting more. I should be further along. I should be able to do all of this.

Sound familiar?

Here's what I did. I went back to the questions.

The 10 questions I ask myself when things start to spiral. I whizzed through them in my head and within moments I was back in the room β€” clear on the one thing I actually needed to prioritise right now.

Not everything. Just one thing.

The tools don't make life less full. They just help you carry it differently.

If you'd like the questions β€” comment OVERWHELM below and I'll send them straight to you. πŸ’—

We have a saying in our house...

When the kids find something challenging or tell themselves they "can't" I chant at them;

BIG AND STRONG, BRAVE AND POWERFUL... BIG AND STRONG BRAVE AND POWERFUL...

Over and over again!

They look at me and roll their eyes πŸ™„ (they're 4 and 6 😳🀯)

But 2 things happened in the last week...

My daughter doubted herself and I heard her brother say to her, "Come on you can do it, big and strong, brave and powerful remember!"

My heart swelled.
Not only because he was actually saying something nice to her for a change 😍
but because my words had actually stuck with him and he'd used them to help her πŸ₯°

Then today we went to softplay, just me and my daughter as my son was at school.

She climbed up high on a climbing wall, she'd seen her brother do it many times but had never been big enough herself to get up there.

Today however she did it.

But she was afraid to jump down.

Without any prompting from me she took a deep breath in, exhaled out with a sigh and repeated to herself at the top of her voice "Big and strong, brave and powerful" and then jumped!

She was over the moon with herself and I was so proud of her.

Overcoming fear can be really challenging but with the right tools we can find ways to make it easier and more possible.

I've created a PDF with 10 questions to ask yourself if your feeling overwhelmed. It can help get things into perspective and guide you towards action.

If you'd like a copy just pop me a DM and I will ping it over to you.

In the meantime I'd love to know if you have little ways of helping yourself in moments of overwhelm, adversity or fear.

And if you don't, feel free to borrow ours!

Imagine what life would look like if you told yourself that you were big and strong, brave and powerful? πŸ˜‰πŸ’•

May has been a wild month...

My grandad turned 96
My mum turned 70
The kids have been ill
The dog wasn't quite right
I took on new clients while others came to the end of their programme
It all kicked off in the class WhatsApp group
I have friends who are having some really challenging times right now
We've had the maypole fete, inset days and bank holidays
School trips, sports clubs, swimming lessons and dance classes

I've been chasing my tail and spinning plates all at the same time.

But I feel really lucky that I have so many tools to help me manage in times like this. When it all starts to feel a bit much and life doesn't seem to let up.

If you'd like some helpful questions you can ask yourself when life gets a bit overwhelming, I've create a free PDF for exactly that.

My 10 x Get Over Overwhelm questions is the exact process I take myself through when things get wild.

Reply or DM me with the word OVERWHELM and I'll send it to you. πŸ’—

What a difference a bit of sunshine makes...

There's loads of research that tells us being out in nature is good for our nervous system but when the mind is in override it can sometimes be really hard to bring it back into balance.

We're wired up for survival and if you've had to 'survive' your nervous system will be in defence mode as default.

Being in nature definately helps but what makes the difference is when we slow down, listen, feel and focus on what's around us.

Giving the mind something else to do other than ruminate or worry about what should, could or might have been.

To change these patterns, the best place to start is becoming clear on what your default thinking is and how it's affecting you and your life.

The ladies inside The Reset are half way through and they're discovering what this looks, sounds and feels like for them.

Gaining clarity around their stories and beliefs, as well as their values which drive their needs.

If this is something you'd like to explore I'm starting a wait list for the next round.

Drop me a DM with your email and I will keep you posted.

But for now... get outside, feel the sun on your skin, listen to those little birds and notice the changing of the season.

It will signal to your brain that you are safe and give your nervous system a rest!

Spring is the perfect time to start πŸ’•
