✂️ Julia’s Hair Donation Update ✂️

Last Friday, 29th May, Julia visited the hairdressers and made an incredible gesture, cutting off 18 inches of her hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust. 💇‍♀️

This amazing charity is very close to Julia’s heart. She has supported them twice before, raising over £1,000 in previous efforts. 🤩
Our original goal was a realistic but meaningful £500, enough to contribute towards the creation and fitting of a wig for a child in need.

🌹 SHE DID IT! 🌹

Our amazing supervisor, Julia Marriott , has officially braved the chop for The Little Princess Trust! She donated a whopping 18 inches of hair—scroll to see her rocking the new look! 😱💇‍♀️

Julia’s hair is now on its way to be transformed into a real-hair wig for a child experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment or other conditions. We are so incredibly proud of her for such a selfless gesture, and we think she looks pretty cool! 😎✨

Julia is continuing to raise funds until July to cover the costs of creating these life-changing wigs. Every penny counts:

💜 £150 covers the cost of a wig fitting.
💜 £550 covers the cost to manufacture one wig.

🌸 Just a little FYI to all you lovely people 🌸

Today is the big day! Julia will be cutting off the majority of her hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust ❤️💇‍♀️
We’ve remeasured her hair today, and unbelievably it’s grown a whopping 4 inches in just under 2 months 😱 — meaning she’ll be able to donate even more to this incredible charity!

We’re continuing to fundraise until July, so if you’re able to, please donate whatever you can 💛

Our amazing colleague Julia Marriott is at it again! 🌟
For the third time, Julia is bravely facing the scissors to support the Little Princess Trust. This time, she’s chopping off an incredible 12 inches of her hair to help provide real-hair wigs for children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
We are so proud to have someone so selfless on our team. It takes a lot of heart (and a lot of patience to grow that much hair!) to do this once, let alone three times!

Wise Wednesday 🤔

Blepharitis

Blepharitis happens when the tiny oil glands near the base of your eyelashes get clogged or irritated. This leads to red, swollen, or itchy eyelids. It is not contagious and is a condition that requires perpetual treatment.

Some signs:

The "Gritty" Feeling: Feeling like there is sand or dirt in your eye.

Crustiness: Waking up with sticky eyelashes or flakes that look like dandruff.

Irritation: Redness, itching, or a slight burning sensation.

Watery Eyes: Your eyes might overcompensate for the irritation by producing more tears.

How we manage it! 👁️‍🗨️

A warm compress and gentle cleaning are your best friends! A warm compress for 10 minutes can help soften any crust and oils in the glands so they flow better. There are products that are specifically formulated to help treat and manage Blepharitis. Please contact your optometrist for more information on these products and personal recommendations. 😎

Our amazing Optical Assistant Angie is fundraising to travel to Nepal with Ludlow College to help support struggling villages and local communities 🙏✨
