“Thank you for everything you do - you truly are the heart of Keech.”
– Liz, CEO Keech Hospice

Every day, our volunteers bring kindness and care into every space of our hospice. Your time, compassion and presence make the difference to the children, adults and families we support.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we couldn’t do this without you.

One conversation changed everything…

Before Irene died, she told Gordon to give something back when he retired.

Now, he volunteers as a driver at Keech, helping patients get the care and connection they need.

“Every journey I make feels like I’m carrying her kindness forward.” 🩷

“My son died at Keech, and we saw what a wonderful place it is. The garden was my sanctuary, so I wanted to volunteer because the garden helped me.” - Katie, Volunteer Gardener

Katie’s story is a powerful reminder of how volunteering can transform grief into something that supports others. 🩷

“I spoke with my patient’s husband today, who told me how impressed he was with Pat, one of our Volunteer Drivers. They were feeling apprehensive beforehand, unsure of what the group would be like. But Pat quickly put them both at ease with his kindness and warmth.”
- Hayley Crimp, Specialist Palliative Rehabilitation Physiotherapist

This is what volunteering at Keech looks like and the difference it makes to the lives of our patients and their families. 🩵

💰 THE VOTES ARE IN… 💰

And what a response we had!

Over 800 of our wonderful community took part in the vote for our next Charity of the Year. The winning charity (with over 220 votes) is…

We are incredibly proud to be supporting them over the next year and we know so many of you are too!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL…

We are also incredibly pleased to be announcing that our Kingfisher Karnival will be taking place on Saturday 1st August this year, and this will be the first event taking place to raise money for Keech.

Every day, we hear words like these from our volunteers:

“Volunteering gives me a sense of purpose, and that makes me happy.”
“I wanted to give something back and I’ve gained so much myself.”
“I tell my friends, if you ever get the chance - come and volunteer at Keech!”

Volunteers Week is our chance to pause, reflect and celebrate the people who help our community live and die well. And that’s you.

Thank you for making the difference - this week and every week. đź©·
